  1. Hmmm...let's see just started mushies yesterday: 6am - coffee w/splenda & half n half 9am - kashi go lean vannilla hot Cereal (1 pkg) w/unflavored Protein powder added Noon - 1oz. canned chicken mushed up with some mayo 3pm - protein shake 6pm - 1/2 C seasoned ground beef seasoned and simmered in Water (don't ask....it was mushy!) 8pm - 1/2 mushed up avacado Wow that looks like a lot when i type it out haha. I've been really having a hard time with HUNGER. I've been very hungry, I cannot wait for a fill! LOL
  2. Stuff is going down a lot easier....I'm on mushies currently and get to add soft solids at the end of next week. I'm glad everyone is feeling better, I know I feel great....I just have to watch I don't over-do it on the mushies....I know it's a time for healing but, I'm going to be totally bummed if I see a gain. =(
  3. I hope you're feeling better!! My thoughts/prayers are headed your way! (Has anyone heard an update?)
  4. Low carb has worked for me in the past...and I think with the tool I have now it will be successful longterm. Plus I won't have issues getting Protein in as the Low carb lifestyle is filled with protein rich foods. My surgeon is also an advocate of low-carb which helps with my decision. I don't plan on being on a "diet", but watching what I eat and trying to get my protein in will be a daily goal. I'm sure I'll have many slip-ups during my journey....but, unlike in the past I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I have this groovey little tool that will not allow past issues such as binge eating stop me.
  5. I'm hanging on! Thanks for the words of encouragement!
  6. Prayers are with you!! Welcome to the bandster side! :crying:
  7. I actually felt much better after returning to work today...it was weird. I feel pretty "normal" to be honest. I have a tad bit of port pain when I get up from a sitting position, and I burp a lot but all the gas pain seems to be gone. My main issue at the moment is hunger (and I'm still feeling pretty lazy), I cannot figure this out to save my life. Everything sounds good except the stuff I can have (soup, Protein drinks). It's sad....I was hoping my surgery restriction would last at least a week. :crying: I also grabbed some soup from Target the other day, it's carrot/ginger...it tasted "ok" while I was eating it (only had about 1/4C) immediately after, I became nauseated. I never threw up, but the THOUGHT of that soup makes me feel like I'm going to be sick...so weird.
  8. I know your pain, I have an awful time gagging down Protein. =( I ordered several samples from vitalady per the advice on these boards (as well as some D'vinci) and I'm hoping when they get here I'll have some relief. lol I think I'll stop at GNC tomorrow at lunch and grab some of the whey protein.
  9. I'm so glad you're okay, what a horrible thing to go through.
  10. TO BE IN BANDSTER HELL!!! OMG I just had surgery 4/16 and I'm already starving....this has to be some kind of cruel joke. Oh why can't I stay swollen longer??? :crying::cursing::eek::cursing::biggrin::cursing:
  11. I say good for you girl!! I can only hope I'll have the same "problem" someday. :crying:
  12. Yesterday was the worst for me. I was semi-nauseated and my port-pain was almost too much to take. Today I feel much better, I sorta wish I'd taken another day off work, but I was lucky to get the time off I did. At least I have a desk job, so I'm sure I'll be fine...it'll just be a long day tomorrow. I'm forcing myself to drink, drink, drink....I don't really feel like it at all.

  14. I was banded the same day and I'm having the same issue. Burping like crazy and I am so BLOATED!!! I don't think I've ever felt this bloated in my life.
  15. Wow!! What an inspiration!! Grats on your loss!
  16. I was banded on 4/16 and today was the worst for me pain-wise. My port is very sore and my tummy feels "tight". I'm also hungry (I think :tt1:) and having some issues getting all my liquids. I slept more today then I have since the surgery, and I'm feeling a bit better. I hate taking the pain meds but I went ahead with them because the discomfort was really effecting my ability to relax. I had some broth yesterday and it tasted good, today the thought of broth makes me want to hurl (weird, huh?). Luckily I haven't gotten sick, but I have had a couple episodes of nausea. I'm headed back to work on Monday, hopefully I'll be up for it.
  17. I really like the Isopure Blue Raspberry (well as much as a person can like Isopure lol)....the Orange Ice and the Lemon Tea are HORRIFYING! YUCK! I ordered like 40 samples from Vitalady.com, surely one of them will make me happy. The aftertaste is what kills me with most of the Protein drinks.
  18. 2 weeks liquids for me....had one day clear, and now I'm on full liquids until I see him - in two weeks. My doc doesn't fill for 4-6wks post op. I'm allowed to start mushies 4/30 and will be on those for 2 weeks before I start adding in soft solids.
  19. Congrats on your band myturn!!! Yes, the bloating/gas is still kicking my butt and I notice the port area more and more every hour lol. I've been running errands and such this afternoon so, I got a lot of walking in. Hubby has been good to me, he went in to work for a bit this morning but has been home all afternoon to drive me around. I think I'll call it an early night. By the way, I've named my band "betty".
  20. I was banded yesterday as well. I have some gas/bloating but all things considered my energy level is pretty high. I'm certainly not hungry!! I've noticed I get colder easier, I've heard of this happening but wasn't expecting it so soon. Port area is sore, but bloating is my major annoyance for now. My surgery was at 7:30am and I was home by noon and resting in my own bed. Glad it's over and excited about taking this journey with you all.
  21. I'm still getting to know my CPAP lol. I was lucky and didn't wake up with one in recovery. I also haven't slept an entire night with the one I have at home...but, I have had the same thoughts as you about it....I certainly don't want any additional air in my tummy!!!
  22. I had second thoughts right before they wheeled me off to surgery...then when I woke up and felt like someone took a spoon and stirred my insides up!!! Morphine to the rescue! Today I feel wonderful and I cannot believe it took me so long to decide to do this. I'm so looking forward to my new life!
  23. As someone who "just" got banded - yesterday! Your story is an inspiration to me. I cannot imagine why anyone would give you negative feedback. Congrats on your successes! I can only hope to do as well as you have.
  24. You and I are same-date band buddies!!! The bloating is what's kicking my butt today....the weird thing is, I actually have more energy then I have in ages. I woke up from surgery with some major pain in my tummy, but morphine took care of that, lol. I'm feelin good and looking forward to my new life. I wish they'd had this surgery available when I was your age!!
  25. Isopure in Blue Raspberry is good. I like Isopure because it's clear, high in protein and sugar free...some of the flavors are iffy (lemon tea is awful) but overall it's not so bad.
