  1. Dec 1st here. I'm so nervous and scared but excited for the future:) I am down 17lbs on the pre-op diet.
  2. OMG!!!! This is the exact same for me! I can't stop cleaning and preparing for the surgery. I tell my hubby the same thing! I'm terrified!
  3. Yes,Hypoglycemic! I'm glad I'm not the only one to worry about this! Thank you for the info. I stopped taking Metformin because I was low on my pre-op diet. Since then I have been ok. I just have been worried about not having anything but clear liquids and dropping low. Thank you for the help:)
  4. I'm having surgery the 1st as well and I am scared too. I have never had surgery before so I'm kind of freaking out. The Pre-op diet is hard but I'm down 16lbs from it.
  5. I went to the dentist and he gave me a syringe to clean the flap of skin that covers the tooth. The surgeon does not want me getting it out that close to surgery. I will have to get it out 4-6 weeks after surgery. I do however have a sinus infection now:( My surgery is scheduled Dec 1st. I called my surgeon and he said it should be fine, cause I will be cleared up by then. Thank you for the replies I was so worried. I'm def not looking forward to getting out after surgery :/
  6. Hello, Has anyone experienced low blood sugar with the Clear liquids the day before surgery and the week after? I worried about the week of clear liquids. I do not have diabetes but I am a pre-diabetic. My A1C was 5.7. Thank you!
  7. I have been wondering the same thing!
  8. Hi everyone, I am hoping someone knows or has been in a similar situation. I have never had surgery before and I have a partial impacted wisdom tooth that is poking out of the gum. I was supposed to have it removed last Saturday but the dentist would not do it because I have a wicked cold. I am freaking out cause my surgery date is approaching, I'm worried my tooth could be infected? I don't know though. I really hope my surgery won't be postponed again. Has anyone ever had wisdom tooth/dental problems?
  9. I am scheduled to get sleeved 12/1. I'm so nervous I was just wondering what to pack. Listerine is a great idea. Thank you!
  10. Congrats! My surgery is Nov 17th, I do not have good Thanksgivings either! So I don't mind having surgery right before.
  11. I'm not afraid of dying in surgery; instead, I'm afraid of something going wrong with the surgery and leaving me with some sort of lifelong disability or major problem that will never go away. Yes! I thought of this too! I also worry, "What if it turns out there's something in your stomach that you need to live a long time, and we're all getting surgery that still makes us die at 70 instead of 90?" I'm glad I'm not the only one!! I have that same fear What if in 20 years problems happen and its because part of my stomach is missing! I also fear blood clots and complications.
  12. I'm in Colorado! Getting sleeved in November.
  13. I totally feel you on this one. I have had GERD for 7 years now and I want the sleeve. I also have PCOS and my nutritionist said they will push me to the rny. I can't wait to talk to my surgeon! I'm also scared of rny and I worry about the taking pills, as I have 5 prescriptions I take daily...so I worry about absorbing those....and no Advil:( The way I look at it is....I take 40mg of prilosec daily.....without surgery I will still take prilosec daily and if I have GERD after the sleeve......I will take prilosec daily.... so I guess there is no escaping it:) Are you taking meds for GERD? I also did not get GERD until I gained my weight during pregnancy and I have had it ever since. So hopefully it goes away after I loose weight!
  14. I have to finish my classes then they will book my surgery date. I could be booked Oct/Nov, but I'd rather miss out on thanksgiving as opposed to Halloween. So Nov it is!
  15. Hi everyone, I am new and super scared for surgery. I have so many fears such as being allergic to general anesthesia and having crazy complications. I have never had surgery before and it seems that weird things always happen to me. I am having Dr. Chae preform my surgery. He did the lap band on my mom and my friend 5 years ago. He also did my friends mom's gastric bypass. All three are still successful today. Has anyone had a sleeve done by him? How was it? Complications? I am going through Kaiser. I hear he is awesome, but I would like to connect with some people sleeved by him. I'm 27, 5'5 and 306lbs. Due to be sleeved in November.
