  1. New video is up! I survived my first trip after my gastric bypass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHmZm02Box0
  2. I definitely could not figure out what onderland meant until today and I wasn't going to ask! Congrats!!!!!
  3. New video! Surviving the Holidays!
  4. It is definitely difficult and I had my own struggles but it is worth it. My organs were shrunk for the surgery like the diet is supposed to do and I had no complications which I am forever thankful for. Stay strong!!
  5. Belive me, I know what you mean. I started a YouTube channel as well to document my progress and help other people since YouTube videos by Mellie Mae and similar helped me to take this life changing journey. While I do agree it is kind of scary, we all need to not care about what people think. As selfish as it is, this journey is about us!
  6. My week 2 video, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Week 2 has been uploaded!
  7. Alright I am 10 days post-op and on the Phase II/Puree diet but have not figured out what my full signal is (if any). Currently, I am just eating the starting amount (typically 2 TBS) and have not pushed it. My question to everyone is, what is your full signal and where does it present? (IE: Slight pressure in the chest) I am trying to figure out if I am getting the signal and just haven't made the connection yet or have not hit the magic quantity yet. Thanks!
  8. I am feeling damn good! Got off of my pain meds less than 5 days after surgery.
  9. I am sorry to hear about your father but am very glad you made the decision to get the surgery to better your health. Have you been able to shake the high cholesterol blood pressure and diabetes yet?
  10. I have posted my second video recapping my first week post-op. You can see it here: https://youtu.be/3a_abSPZ0xo
  11. I had mine on the 2nd! 1 week out and feeling good!
  12. So I am less than 24 hours away from my surgery! I have been on my liquid diet for 2 weeks and 6 LONG days but it has been fun as i have lost on average 1-2 pounds a day for a total of 25 pounds! The diet is a b***h but worth it if it lessens the risk of complications from surgery. I have decided to document everything and start a YouTube channel since it helped me make the leap of faith and start this journey. I will be posting weekly so people can see the good and bad of surgery and hopefully help others decide if surgery is good for them. My YouTube channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCx-z0jZVXX6Atd6EscOwxdw if you would like to see my progress. That being said, what was the point in your life that got you to decide on surgery?
  13. Don't know how normal it is but I am 5 days in to preop and am cold too.
  14. I am extremely lucky and have a great boss and colleagues. I have been pretty much open with everyone when I started going to the mandated 6 months of classes and have found nothing but support for my decision. In being open about it, I have found two others in my office who have recently had it done and another who is having hers done the month after mine which has been great because we bounce problems/worries off each other and give support to one-another. My question for everyone else is why try to hide it? Are you worried about what others may say or maybe worried it will alter your future at the job? No hate on anyone. In my opinion, its your life and you should do whatever makes you the happiest.
