I thought about prune juice earlier but the sugar in it is what stopped me. But doing it 50/50 sounds like would work and take out some of the sugar. I will do this tomorrow. Thanks Niki and everyone!

I've been taking stool softener daily and tried an enema today. I'm not at the point where I can eat an apple ...8 days post-op. I'm just frustrated right now. I don't feel like eating anything. I'm a little depressed after having this surgery.

Does Eating/Food ever become enjoyable again?
I guess everyone is different. My sister had her gastric bypass surgery around 15 or 16 years ago. She can eat, but still has trouble with certain foods such as ketchup, ice cream, rice, and yogurt. And she said pasta fills her up extremely fast. My mom on the other hand had her surgery like 13 or 14 years ago and pretty much can anything except for rice regular sodas, and ice cream.

Cream of Wheat
I had my surgery last Tuesday, and proud to say that I've lost 17 pounds thus far lol! But when I was in the hospital, I was given cream of wheat. Is anyone else eating it? It sounds good right about now even though I despise eating it ????

It could be trapped gas from something you ate. Maybe you should check with your doctor or his/her nurse to see if you can take Gas-X.

Hi Niki, I am having the same problem and I'm five days post-op as well. But I think it's because it is a main incision and it's still trying to heal.

5 Days Post-Op
Hello all, I have a question. I am five days post-op, but I wanted to know if I can eat mashed potatoes if I make it very creamy with skim milk. If pudding is allowed, what about mashed potatoes. Thanks
