  1. This is something that you are doing for you. I don't feel like I am obligated to tell anyone other than my husband. I think most reactions come from them thinking from there own perspective. I mean some are worried but they take it to a whole new level. And hunny, I'm sure you are worrying enough. You don't need that right now. Think about what she said and then make your own choice from what you feel you need to do. It is pretty disheartening when people react so negatively.
  2. Personally if I'm not hungry, I don't feel the need to be tempted. You could always make foods that are not triggers for you.
  3. If your kids are old enough maybe you could continue ton have them help out. Surely your husband can help out. I don't have kids, but I told my husband that I would not be cooking so he is going to have to fend for himself. I got easy meals for him to prepare only because I have more time to do the shopping. I know you want to take care of your family, but you have to take care of you as well. One thing you could do is have your meal as you cook theres, or a salad.
  4. You could even find it online! Counting becomes obsessive but its really interesting to see just how much food is worth calorie wise. I can't imagine living without my scale and measuring cups and spoons. But yes make an appointment and be sure to ask weather to weight meats cooked or raw. Then come back and tell me! I keep forgetting to ask. Lol Whether *
  5. Just know that you are a strong person to have not eaten your own arm. I tried it for a day and didn't last till dinner. My doctor didn't recommend it so maybe the motivation was not there. But eventually they say it doesn't hurt as bad. You can make it through! Try and remember that it makes for a safer surgery. Sorry I couldn't be of more help :-( but I M rooting for you both!!
  6. Hey there, what type of pre-op diet are you doing?
  7. Hello! We can be surgery sisters! Lol, where are you having your surgery? Where are you based?? I'm so excited to meet someone with a date close to mine. I know people are having it too, but I have not been I'm contact with them. Tell me everything! Haha
  8. Hello! So for stats, I am currently 308, I need to lose 12 more pounds in three weeks before surgery on sept 1st 2015. I'm easing myself into the pre-op diet mode with a few shakes a day with small meals thrown in. I live in hull, uk but I'm having the gastric sleeve surgery at Nord Bariatric in Lithuania. Once I got over the fear of leaving the country for surgery, I was hit with the realization that my surgery is there weeks away. I am having mini panic attacks every so often when I think about going under and waking up in pain! Guys I'm a big old baby. I have never had any serious medical conditions, I barely get shots. I cringe when getting blood drawn. Post op people can you please tell me what its like going under and waking up? I'm hoping that by knowing what to expect, I will start to feel better about it. Its really the unknown that scares me. Thanks for any time you can give me!
  9. hello! So for anyone who reads this. I finally have a surgery date of Sept 1, 2015. I am having my surgery at Nord Bariatric Clinic in Lithuania. I live in the UK, and having it done here was out of the question. My main reason for this blog is to serve as a resource for others who are interested in this clinic. I had such a hard time finding others who had my surgeon. So hopefully this is one more resource for someone else! So my doctor is Professor Almantas Maleckas. He is based in Lithuania. So far my experience with the clinic has been nothing but positive. The costumer service representative Jurate is amazing. She has been very responsive to every email and every little question. I first started looking for someone to do this procedure at the beginning of May. I was looking to only have surgery in the UK, but once I realized that I would have to take out a loan just to pay for it, I began looking in Europe. It is half the price of having it here, yet it seems the level of care is the same. I was not merely looking for a cheap surgery, I was looking for someone less expensive yet very qualified. And it seems Dr. Maleckas is exactly what I had in mind. Its not as convenient as having the surgery in Belgium which was my other option. For anyone looking for a surgeon in Belgium, I have one I could recommend. I did the research and have found loads of people who are happy with their results. I settled with Nord Bariatric because I had already been in contact with them and I really was impressed with there level of attention to me. I was not given a specific pre-op diet, I was merely told to lose 10kgs. Which in two months, would require a pretty strict diet! With that, I am doing two Protein Shakes for Breakfast and lunch, with a low carb meal for dinner. In the past 7 days I have lost about 3 pounds, so I can not complain. I still have about 11 pounds to go. Wish me luck! Does anyone have any experiences with this surgeon! Any advice? Or are you in Hull/ East Riding area???
