Sept date I am all set
Doing better today, yesterday was rough. I don't do well with anasethsia so I knew going in recovery would suck. Gas pain was a killer. Feeling a little better today, up walking around.

Really, really scared about surgery
Hi Sunnysun. I'm 37 with a 2 and 4 year old. I have been having very similar thoughts run through my head. I think that's to be expected. But I also have happy thoughts of being able to keep up with them, and liking the park instead of dreading it, being able to go on bike rides with them and my big one...take pictures with them, not having to crop myself out! You got this mama!

Pre op diet..
I did some research on this because I felt I was in the minority and wondered why my surgeons don't do pre-op liquid diet. What I found was there is no direct evidence that an ALL liquid diet 2 weeks before the surgery would yield any different outcome than say only doing it 3 days before the surgery. I also read that an all liquid diet does not yield any different results than a low carb diet a couple weeks before the surgery would. So take that for what it's worth, but my guess is if your surgeons are up to date on their research, they know what's up! ????

???? thanks for the reply!! It's definitely a low key trip, nothing major planned activity wise, but keeping up with my 2 and 4 year old on the trip is another story!

Travel after surgery
Hi everyone. Surgery is scheduled for September 16 and we have a family vacation that's been planned for a long time starting October 8. In terms of pain and healing, I should be good to go by then, right? I know its going to be a rough time for me with transitioning to mushy from liquids only around that time.

Surgery on Thursday... weird question though...
My surgery is scheduled for Sept 16 but I was also told no restrictions right up until night before. I thought it was weird too, but I'll take it!
