  1. Lap Band to Sleeve Conversion

    I'm, unfortunately, one of those where the band just did not do the job as hoped. I received the band in July 2006, but to recent health issues and yo-yo weigh-ins, I'm being referred for the sleeve. Considering the actual success rate, I'm very much looking forward to starting the journey to the sleeve. So I'm wondering, has anyone had any experience with the revision? How did it go with insurance, the requirements, etc?

    I don't have BCBS, but most insurance companies usually require at least a 40 BMI and at least one co-morbidity confirmed, like diabetes, sleep apnea, or high blood pressure. Maybe some might do a 35 BMI? But I do know that a family history isn't enough. I'm actually looking at getting a revision so I have the joy of going through it again.
