I was prediabetic, actually probably diabetic with a A1C of 7.1 but the doctor wanted to wait until after the surgery and see how weight loss would affect my levels. Starting weight was 316 and current wieght 255 with a A1C of 5.1. So things have worked out great. This tool was such a blessing. Good luck to you on this journey

I'm sorry to hear that, he was great I meant him at the orientation. I had Dr Kindel do my surgery this passed December , I have had no issues and she is great. I just wanted to share that with you for when you decide who to move on to. Once again I'm sorry to hear about his passing

Good luck to everyone ,I been home since 12/18 and doing well, walking and moving, biggest challenge is gas pain but it has started moving....Thankful to God for a successful surgery ????????

I have my VSG today at 145pm. I am a ball of emotions including nervous but most of all excited. It's now or never and I chose now. I thank God for allowing this 3 month process to go smoothly and today is the day. God bless everyone in their journey and I'm ready for the ride ????????????

My surgery is on Dec 17th, I had all my final appointments on Dec 1st. Last thing to do is to start my pre-op diet tomorrow. And I think it should be ok because mine is a high protein low carb diet , so I can eat some foods and drink my priemer protein shakes ( which I love ). I'm just shocked how fast this got here. I started in August and now I'm two weeks away, no 6 month requirement which helped. I'm excited and anxious for this new chapter. I'm thankful to God for this opportunity and I wish everyone good luck on their journey ????

Wooooow......I have been on this site for a while and I just found this group. I too am a Christian and grew up believing that I should include God in every decision I make. I prayed for this and asked God if it's not for me give me a sign. Well since I started this journey everything has been smooth sailing. After finishing my requirements I was approved by my insurance the same day it was submitted. My surgery is set for December 10. I know that was nobody but God. I thank him for his constant presence in my life. I love that this forum exist especially for believers. God bless everyone in their journey ????????.

I have been thinking about this for a while ( and trolling this site, quitely gaining information) and I started my process on august 3rd. I had my orientation on august 3rd, consult on august 10th, nutritionist on august 26th and psych evalulation on sept 3. My team thought that I needed a 6 month medically supervised diet but I told them I spoke with my insurance several times and they said no. So I had to really advocate for myself and make them submit to my insurance. Well she called me the same day and said that I was approved YAAAAAAAAAAY. Needless to say she said that she had never seen a insurance approve so fast. FYI my insurance is Humana. I am just really excited about this and nervous but grateful for the chance to make some MUCH NEEDED changes. This is something that I have being praying for and im so thankful to God. So now im just waiting for them to call so I can schedule and get my date. Just wanted to share my story and wish everyone good luck no matter where you are in your journey. Blessing to all
