  1. Finally approved, thanks for your help:)
  2. Wow! That was a pretty close approval to your surgery! When did they submit the paperwork? Good luck!!! They submitted it 1/21 and I called the last few days and they kept saying it's pending. Well this morning I called and asked for the reviewing department and I spoke with an individual and explained to him that I'm due to have surgery on 2/1 and he told me he was going to expedite it. Stated that I should hear something by the end of day today. Well I heard back within 4 hours. The wait is finally over.
  3. I'll be back to work on 2/5 pending the surgery go according to my plans
  4. Super excited that I just got approved, surgery is Monday 2/1
  5. Many prayers to you, please give us an update as soon as you can:)
  6. I'm waiting on approval for a 2/1 surgery date. Do u think constant calls help speed things along? I'll do it, but what do u ask them, if you case has been approved?
  7. Seems like most people are being approved within a week or less.. my case will be submitted tomorrow so hopefully I'll have an approval before 2/1 *fingers crossed
  8. Yes I was required to complete the 6 month supervised physician visits and have a psychological evaluation and register with Bariatric resources
  9. Hi does anyone have experience with uhc choice and the amount of time it takes for them to approve surgery. I completed my psychological evaluation on 1/12 and the doctor told me he'd have the report to my surgeon on 1/15. Well today I called them and they are saying that they were waiting for my insurance to approve the psychological... shouldn't that have been approved before I completed the evaluation? Well my dilemma is that I am scheduled for surgery on 2/1 and I don't know how long it takes for uhc to approve once my report is submitted.
  10. that's exactly why I got my hair braided before surgery. One less thing to worry about. Plus I'm natural and I didn't want to be struggling trying to comb it with my incisions still sore. I didn't think about my hair, I'm natural as well. I will have to make a goddess braid around my head the night before. It will be scary if that braid come apart lol.
  11. I hope they grease my lips and make sure my hair is together. Y'all know how we are lol.. I still want to be cute, when you look good, you feel good:)
  12. hygiene products, loose pajama pants, slippers, under ware, socks, bra , (I brought a sports bra) extention cord so my cell phone charger could reach it, iPad , cell phone ,chapstick, bonnet or scarf, the hospital gave me gas strips and anything else I needed they treated me like royalty , I never had any gas due to me walking , walking and more walking the hospital hallways, congratulations on your upcoming surgery and many blessings to you, it like a roller-coaster, lots of fears, and stalls and different emotion, my only regret is not getting this sooner Thank you☺
  13. Hi everyone, I tried to search for threads that discuss helpful things to bring to the hospital. Does anyone have a list of things that made your stay more comfortable. I know I have to stay an extra day due to traveling. My doctor don't want me to go home right away.
