1. Dr. Babineau will be performing my surgery March 7th. I have heard nothing but good things about him. When I went to his consultation he answered all my husband's questions and gave him a totally different outlook about the surgery. My husband was originally against the surgery, but I now have his full support. I live in Tyler so let me know how everything goes.
2. I just found out today that my insurance will pay for my band and my surgery date is March 7th. :whoo:I am so happy! For some reason I did not think that I would be approved and I was on phone daily with the insurance company checking on progress and missing documents. This forum has been a wonderful outlet Is anyone else on this forum using Dr. Babineau here in Tyler?
3. Wanted to give you guys an update. I got the good news today, I was approve and I do not have to do the six month diet! I have my surgery set for March 7th!!!!

5. Congrats, I am in Tyler Texas and I am waiting for insurance approval with UHC. I spoke with my caseworker today and she said that I should hear something tomorrow. (They needed ANOTHER letter from my PCP) Say a prayer for me!
6. I hope I have it as easy as you did.
7. Genia, I live in Tyler. Who performed your surgery if you don't mind me asking
8. UHC requires the six month physician supervised weight loss. I do not know if I will have to do that yet. (My guess is yes) II have signed up for the program at the doctor's office just in case. I teach high school so I would like to have the surgery in June so the six months is no problem.
9. Thanks georgia girl! It's nice to meet you too. This forum rocks. It's nice to know that there are others out there like me that want to take charge of their health and well being.
10. Hello, my name is Tiffenii and I am from East Texas. I am in the final stages of the approval process, just waiting to hear. I have my fingers crossed as I am waiting to hear from UHC. Hopefully, it will be worth the wait!! I think that the lapband would be a God send for me. After having three children and eating a poor diet I have gained about 70 pounds in seven years! I am 30 years old BMI is 37 Hope to be banded June 08
11. I hope so, did you have to go through the six month diet plan or nutritional plan with your PCP. I think I may have to do this. I am a teacher so I would like to have the surgery in June.
12.
I am in the approval process with UHC. I am worried that I will not get approved. My BMI is 37, but I have sleep apnea. I provided the 5 year documentation, had my nutrional and psychological evaluation. I got a letter the other day requesting a letter from PCP and the letter stated that I would be notified w/i one business day. Any similar experiences?
