  2. That happened to me a few days after starting solid food. Once I slowed down and chewed thoroughly it hasn't reoccurred.
  3. I have absolutely no regrets - wish I had bypass years ago.
  4. I have struggled with constipation since surgery on 10/13/2015. I had black tar like stools for about a week and then back to normal appearance. My surgeon said this is normal and from dried blood from surgery. For constipation I started taking probiotics and a fiber that contains both solvable and insoluble made by Pinnaclife called Olivimine 10 Max Prebiotic Fiber. This regime seems to be helping.

  8. I have surgery 10/13 and bought a wedge pillow hoping it will keep me mostly on my back and help me in getting out of bed. It was only $20 at Walmart.
  9. Check out the Bariastic app. It's free and designed for Bariartic patients.
  10. I'm scheduled for 10/13 and started liquid diet 9/29 but for the two previous weeks was on two shakes and one meal eat day. That "weaning" in really helped me adjust to the full liquid phase and I have not had any problems so far. Most of the shakes have an after-taste and need "doctoring" to make them drinkable. I've found warm broth mixed with unflavored protein powder with some Mrs. Dash is quite tasty. I also like making hot cocoa with the chocolate protein is delicious. Just be sure the liquid is below 160 degrees so it doesn't curdle.

  13. I too struggled with the decision between sleeve and bypass. I finally decided on bypass due to its track record and my health issues.
  14. Congratulations I'm sure the wait will have been worth it. I've been scheduled for bypass on 10/13.
  15. I'm scheduled for bypass 10/13 at NE Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. I will do a two week liquid diet.
  16. Wow beachgal2935 I hope I can be half as creative on my pre-surgery phase. I'm anxious to get started. Thanks for the encouraging words.

  18. I'm 60 and got approval from Cigna and my date of 10/13 all yesterday so I'm flying high! I have my class and some pre-surgery tests in the next month and then start my liquid diet on 9/29. It's all happening fast now.
