  1. I'm south of KC - Wellsville/Franklin county.
  2. I have been completely open about it. I have at least ten friends who either want the surgery or are interested in it. So I am posting regular updates on Facebook about my experience. Everyone is very curious about it and supportive.
  3. I bought these for my kids b-day party so I've got an excess. They are only 40 calories with no added sugar (so low in natural fruit sugar, but not sugar free), and they've got Vitamin C which is good for post-op wound healing. Would this be an ok sub for Water on occasion? I get so tired of crystal light and water...
  4. Yes I take Prilosec 40mg.
  5. I say nausea....I mean that constant unsettled gurgling thing. I'm not sick like throwing up but I feel a little "ugh" all day. I'm 7 days post-op.
  6. I popped a couple Bariatric Advantage Essential Multi's this morning after my Breakfast of plain Greek yogurt. First time taking them post-op. It wasn't a minute before the nausea started, then I was running to the toilet. I "heaved" for a few minutes but nothing came up, which I thought was weird. I think I'm okay now. Wtf? If there's one thing in the world I hate it's nausea and especially vomiting. I doubt I'll have the courage to try that Vitamin again. But I don't have any others...
  7. I had a soft egg that did NOT go down well. Gas, bloating, nausea. Later in the day I had goat cheese and it was well tolerated. Go figure.
  8. Yes, cramps like a contraction...good way to describe it. I started solids today and I can feel everything as it goes down and moves through my new stomach.
  9. I can report that everything came out okay. Literally.
  10. Is this normal? I'm 5 days post-op and it started last night. When I take a deep breath and fill my lungs there is a sharp pain beneath my right breast. I'm almost sure it's normal just want to check with other people. Is it gas or am I about to die from a pulmonary embolism? Btw ate my first solid food and lost 14 lbs. woot
  11. I'm not too worried because I simply haven't eaten anything...nothing in, nothing out. And yeah, liquid diets mean soft stools.
  12. I think everybody has a day where they wonder if they made a mistake in having WLS. And that day is 2 or 3 days post-op. You actually feel pretty good when you leave the hospital, but you've still got some of the IV meds in you, leftovers of anesthesia, and the swelling hasn't really peaked yet. Don't be discouraged because if you follow post-op directions you will be over it pretty quick. I'm day 4 and I just cleaned the house!
  13. We have the same avatar! Great job on your WL!!
  14. Coughing and deep breathing are actually good for you despite the pain. Brace your tummy and cough-good for your lungs.
  15. So when did you all have your first poop after surgery? I'm 4 days post-op and still haven't pooped. I don't really feel bad it's just...I was a daily pooper before
  16. I'm on day 4 and let me tell you...day 2 is the WORST. But day 3 was better and day 4 I feel sooooo much better. Yes, it gets better and faster than you'd think. Hang in there!
  17. It seems days 2 & 3 are the worst...you're home and completely off IV meds and anesthesia and the swelling is at its worse. I can't sleep in my bed - so I "made" a hospital- like bed on the couch and used a heating pad. I had a bad night but it's looking up today. I think the most difficult thing is that you're dealing with several types of pain...incision pain, gas pain, gastric pain, and arm and shoulder pain. Meds only help with some of that; the rest has to run its course. I made a huge mistake yesterday when I accidentally swallowed my gum!!! Before I wouldn't think anything of it but I'm sure that caused a lot of gastric pain yesterday. I think it might have moved on finally....
  18. OMG I'm hurting more from this shoulder/arm/neck/wrist pain than my incisions! And mine feel very hot too. I just assumed it was the tension that had built up when I was trying to use my arms instead of my stomach muscles. I am going to do a lot of walking today and going to lie in a shallow bath of Epsom salts and hot Water.
  19. Shoutout if you're having surgery in the morning!! Mine isn't til noon but I have to check in at 11.
  20. July 20th for me!
