  1. You'll be on a full diet by then. You'll be fine. Stick to eating Protein first, veggies than other sides. Most of the time I barely make it past the protein before I'm full. Have fun! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. My cycles are regular now.. Skin tags are gone..hair growth hasn't changed. I'm thinking about the laser hair removal again. Every part of me is changing but that Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I saw my Nut at my last Drs appt. I'm a little further out than you but..64 oz liquid, 100 Grams Protein (to help boost hair regrowth) and 600-800 calories. She told me not to eat more than 800 or I would stop losing. If I don't eat enough my metabolism will be screwed up (my words). Find a bariatric support group at a hospital near you. Seek out a bariatric Nut to go over your nutrition requirements. You definitely can't keep doing this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I guess I'm more afraid of getting sick etc... I'll take Hubbys word for it lolI agree with the getting sick. Too much sugar caused me to feel nauseous for about 1 hr and that was just a couple sips of a milk shake. I'm about 4 1/2 months out Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I was told I could shower but not have the Water hit my stomach directly. I stood with my back to the water. I patted dry my gauze coverings. I only lost 1 before my 2 week post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Even with several co morbs I had to watch my BMI during the 6 months supervised diet. Pretty much had to maintain. I ended up losing 8lbs but that still kept me in the game. It's a shame we have to play their game. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Thank you guys. I really should've said something back then but my emotions were on a roller coaster as it was. This time I have a clearer thought process and it truly is unacceptable for her to act like this.
  8. Ok.. A little background During my first unplanned, later in life pregnancy (I was about to turn 40, back in 2013) this particular nurse practitioner suggested that I terminate the pregnancy. I was floored. I'm am a married woman in a stable relationship and this suggestion was way out of line. Unfortunately this pregnancy did not turn out good and we lost the baby. I should've run then but I didn't. In 2014 I found myself expecting again.. Shocker because I have PCOS and in the 20 years of marriage at the time I had only ovulated a couple of times. We never used protection. Which wasn't our best plan, I know.. I was getting excited, we made it past the first few weeks. But Sadly this also did not turn out well and we lost another baby. At my follow up appointment this same nurse practitioner was rude yet again..in her manner of suggesting permanent birth control do to my weight and age. I love my doctor..she is wonderful, her beside manner was the best during my difficult trials. Id hate to leave the practice but today was just another dig. It's been a few years since I've been to the Drs. Since my last miscarriage. So I didn't think much about who I saw. That is until she walked into the room and all these emotions came flooding back. Of course you have to update your medical records. This included my surgery. She saw the scars during my exam so there wasn't any hiding it. It was her comments about my weight loss that really ticked me off today. "So you're BMI is coming down. That's good but you have more to go". I'm not looking for a pat on the back from medical professionals but I've lost almost 60 freaking pounds since I last saw her and my more to go is 25 lbs. If I stay I'm definitely requesting to see my Dr and not this Nurse practitioner. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I was allowed decaf Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I have only had a couple things that have made me sick. Luckily nothing that has made me vomit. I've learned through my pre op classes that our body has changed so much that things we used to be able to eat we can not tolerate after surgery. We were told that if you have an adverse reaction to a food to wait a month or two and retry it. Some foods you may never to be able to eat again. It's a challenge at times to find foods that works. I'm still looking for that one thing that satisfies me taste wise and is not just nutritious. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I tried it about 7 weeks out. It was too much for me at that time. I haven't tried it again yet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I'd call your doctor. If you still have your gall bladder, that could possibly be your pain. Rapid weight loss has been known to cause issues. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Vegas isn't like that, lol. I know people call it "sin city", but it's not as bad as most most small honky think towns I've been to throughout the last 30 years filled with unhealthy, crack - head, tatted up (not that there's anything wrong with tats in good taste, lol) bottom - feeders. I hate that people perceive Vegas like you portrayed it. But oh well, I guess I can't change that. I find it different living here in Vegas. I never see the downtown or strip area unless I have visitors. I also think there are many health conscious people here, not necessarily fake, like California is perceived, but healthy. Maybe I'm just seeing "my little world" in Vegas and I'm delusional. Either way, keep up the good work and let's just thank God we made it through the surgery and are on our way to better health! Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App I was just in Vegas last week and it is a shame that the whole city is judged by one street. The weather is amazing. The view is amazing. Red Rock Canyon by far was the prettiest hike we've been on. I love to venture into the local streets, find local places to eat and meet the people. One place we kept going back to was Mr. Mamas. Our family had a wonderful time visiting your city. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. 20/22 and in a 12/14 now. 4 months out Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I would venture to say the majority of us felt ready to eat solids earlier than what our Drs said. Going against their plan is a whole other ball game I didn't want to chance. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Been there, don't that. My surgery was scheduled for 12 I was at the hospital at 10 am and I didn't go back till 5. I kept telling myself that it would be ok. Tried to stay positive and was more worried about my family not eating because of not wanting to leave my side. Plus my husband works nights and hadn't slept yet. The "minor" inconvenience was worth it in the end. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Are you having Protein shakes? This will help with the hunger. I had to have 3-5 a day Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  21. I would always shy away from the camera. Hated the way I looked. Never wanted to be in pictures. Today while on vacation I asked to have my picture taken. We are in beautiful Las Vegas visiting the Red Rock Canyon and I wanted to remember today and the view. So thankful for the change in me.. On both the outside and inside Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. 40mg 1 x day for 4 months post op. I'm on my last month now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  24. I've already been checking out prices for the "mommy makeover". It's sad
  25. Mine too has been falling out.. I just got my hair cut short to help keep it healthy. There isn't anything we can do to prevent it but increasing Protein will help with the regrowth. I have thick curly hair. I didn't get it thinned at my last two cuts anticipating this phase. I still almost cry every morning cleaning all the hair out of the tub..
