  6. After all the prerequisites that were required, and submit to insurance to get denied, to having to complete 6 month NUT/PCP weightloss management, to a PEER to PEER and finally finally finally approved. Surgery Date is December 15th I finally have a date and it just got real for me. I'm super excited but I am also nervous, nervous about the surgery itself and nervous because I don't want to fail I have battled the yo-yo weight thing for so flipping long I want to be healthy I want to be able to climb stairs without feeling like my heart is about to pop out of my chest, I want to be free of being obese and so unhealthy. Any other December sleevers out there that feel like this? Mentors? FB??

  8. Hello @@Kellyfitz4 I too am in my 6 month, this month was my fourth visit and the time really does go by fast it is nice to hear others that are in the same process would love to be buddies through the process and I too have learned so much from my NUT. I wish you all well on your journey
  9. Be careful with braiding as well as that pulls tension on your hair I learned the hard way from previous braiding I haven't been sleeved yet and am natural and have been talking to my beautician on steps to help strengthen my hair of course there is nothing she can do to prevent the breakage/shedding if it happens but I'm hoping with steady treatments and plenty of Protein and Vitamins I can at least reduce the amount of hair I may or may not loose. thank you, I'm a little over a week post op I'm just taking my braids out. I want to keep it braided out of fear of shedding.
  10. Looking for bariatric buddies in Atlanta area, seem to only be a few and far between.

  12. If all goes well God will I hope to be having my surgery Dec or Jan I have had all the prerequisites, I.e., NUT eval, cardio, etc., the insurance came back and said they require 6 months physician/Nutritionist eval so here I am but I'm not giving up.
  13. I'm doing 6 months glad I'm not alone in this I have completed all of my other requirements this popped up on me and didn't realize it but yes I'm excited had my second NUT appointment yesterday and going to the gym 5 days a week all I was told is that I cannot gain any weight but I don't need to lose a significant amount of weight either otherwise they may not approve.
  14. I have HighMark BCBS of PA as well and besides the 6 months visits I didn't have the only other thing required is whatever the doctor requirements were and mine consisted of Cardiologist, PCP, NUT, and pysch eval I received my denial in two weeks would have been an approval had I known I needed the 6 months eval, however my coworker had the same insurance last year and she did not have to complete the 6 month visits perhaps it changed so good luck to you
  15. I was orginally scheduled for 8/4 and my surgeon was so sure I'd be approved got word back from the insurance company that i will need the 6 months monitored weightloss regemin had my visit with the Nut today and they are trying to see if my first appt in June can count towards my requirement so i can have my surgery in December broke my heart pissed me off to no end i was sure the surgeon did all the checks prior to submittal but no so here I am hoping for December or January
  16. Same thing happened to me last month. They called me to tell me I got denied because of the same reason... I was so pissed off. I have to do 6 months of weigh ins...so now I'm looking to get surgery January or February of next year... I'm not as bummed anymore because I understand this will benefit me in the long run with my eating habits. Good luck!!!This same thing happened to me yesterday and i was sure the doctor office had all they needed and knew what was required before they sent the paperwork they were so sure I'd get approved they set me a tentative surgery date now im looking at January or February for surgery after I complete 6 months physician /nut supervised weightloss regemin
