Three weeks post op
I am going once a day now and that makes me happy. I do two colace a day, two probiotics, two gummy fibers I added back in coffee. (Asked dr first) on the weekends when I don't have to leave the house I drink 10 sips of prune juice first thing in the morning. That gets me going in about 30 Mins. (Gastric bypass) I also do Greek yogurt with kashi go lean original and I have veggies with every meal. I hope this helps.being stopped up is miserable. Oh and the smooth move tea is good too. I try to stay away from taking stuff that I will become dependent on though. Once in a while it can't hurt.

Constipation Help?
It does get better. When you are able to add in more foods like vegetables and oatmeal it gets better. Make sure you are drinking lots of water. Walking helps too.

Prune juice first thing in the morning. Stay at home though because with the bypass you will go three times pretty quick. I did a cup the first time. I would not recommend that much. Maybe try 1/2 cup and see what happens.- Super Nose?!
I'm 6 weeks out and I have stopped inhaling when people pass me in the grocery store. Let's just say the smells are unpleasant. Lol- What Is Your Biggest Fear?
I am also wondering if I am doing things right. Wondering if the oatmeal I added in for breakfast is causing me to stall. [emoji15]- What Is Your Biggest Fear?
My biggest fear right now is that I am losing so slow that my window of opportunity to get the weight off will pass and I will still be overweight. I have only lost 17 lbs in 6 weeks. It's very frustrating.- Super Nose?!
Yes!!! I noticed in the hospital, at home, in the grocery store, etc. Weird how the surgery can change your sense of smell.- Vitamins and supplements
Oh I forgot, I take two fiber gummies also! ????- Vitamins and supplements
I agree! I follow my surgeon's instructions to the letter.- Vitamins and supplements
The only thing I am required to take is two bariatric multi Vitamins (two is 1 serving), three chewable calcium with Vitamin D, B12, and omeprazole. Because of bowel issues I also take two probiotic pills (2= 1 serv.), one or two colace gel caps and Biotin for my hair and nails. I also am taking stuff short term for a UTI. Fun fun- Vitamins and supplements
That is a good idea- two different pill organizers!- Vitamins and supplements
My head is spinning with the amount of vitamins and supplements I have to remember to take everyday. Any tips on organizing these to make it easier? I find myself at 11PM going through the checklist in my head to make sure I've gotten everything in. I bought a pill organizer which lets you remove just the day you need and take it with you but the pill compartments are too small.- Is this normal?
Thanks for all the responses! I will try to be patient and not focus too much on the scale.- Is this normal?
Thank you for the encouraging words James. I will just keep on doing everything I should be doing and hope I see some progress soon.- Is this normal?
Well it's good to know I'm not the only one Pinkgirl.- Is this normal?
I am three weeks out from RNY and I have only lost 11 pounds. I thought the weight would be coming off quickly so early on. I am following the rules and getting in enough Protein and Water. I'm walking 30 minutes a day. I am so discouraged. The 11 lbs came off in the first two weeks. This last week I have lost nothing.- Soft Foods
I just made the ricotta bake. It was very good! So nice to have something that tastes like a real meal.- No RNY for BMI over 50?
Educate yourself on the surgeon and go with the best. I went in for the sleeve and was told it would only make my reflux worse and that it had to be the RNY. I totally trust my surgeon so I went with it. So far I have had no problems.- January Surgery Dates!
I think day two at home was the worst for me. I took two doses of pain meds. After that I was fine no more pain meds. It was uncomfortable getting up and down but I didn't need the meds. Getting the fluids down at first is tough but at one week I can get down 64oz and then some. - Constipation Help?
