I know it had to be Divine Intervention for me because nothing else has worked and I was led to this right after my son-in-law passed away. I have had a few struggles in the past few months with some plateauing but some my fault too. I am so happy I had this surgery!! Brenda

Yes that is exactly what is happening to me. I have not had a fill yet. I go next Monday and I am thinking I might get a fill this time. I think I have only lost about 5 pounds this time. Looking forward to going to the doc and getting weighed on the 9th. I will let you know. Bren

I hear ya Kan and when you get as old as I am it is really easy to pack it on!!! I am thrilled with my band!! You are doing great!! Bren

Thanks Kan I am learning to be patient. In the past, it has not been my best virtue either. I am not allowing myself to get frustrated or upset with this slow weight loss lately. I think I am ready for my first fill here. I will see the doc on the 9th. Bren :-)

I also had surgery out of PH and have been thrilled with that hospital and all the staff. Dr. Bhesania was my physician and I was very pleased with him. I am 4 months out and have lost 46 pounds. Good luck with your decision. Bren

Leelanau I felt the band was quite easy. I have had no complications at all. I am so happy I decided on the lap band!!! Brenda in Attica MI

I was banded on Jan. 15, 2008 and have not had a fill yet. Doc says I don't need one yet. I am down 42 pounds so far. I am pretty darn happy!!! I am sticking under 1000 calories a day and making sure I get all my food groups in. I eat off a small salad plate to control my portions. I drink at least 40 ounces of water a day and then maybe a crystal lite too. I always have snacks of pretzels or a healthy choice ice cream and if I go to a birthday party I will eat a small piece of cake. I am establishing a new way of living the rest of my life so I don't want to feel like I am on a "diet". The lap band has been a wonderful tool for me in assisting my weight loss but it is up to me to make the right choices. Hope everyone is doing great and have a nice weekend Bren

Renewed that is great news!!! I am also a pretty darn happy camper this morning! I woke up and weighed in at 199.4!!!!!!!!! The first time in 15 years I have been under 200! I couldn't wait to finally post on here! Bren

I cannot believe it I was 202.0 this morning. I am pretty excited. This is a number I have not seen in 13 years!!! I cannot wait to see 199.0 This is so exciting. I am happy for all of you too!!! :purplebananna: Bren

I swim a lot too and I was told I had to wait until all my incisions healed which was one month after surgery. Bren

Apples sometimes people are so involved in their own misery they cannot share in the joy of others. Give her time and maybe she will join you for a banding. I have a friend that just told me she is going on a diet because no way can I weigh less than her now. So now it is a competition ugh!!! Whatever you have to do stay focused on you and hopefully your friend will snap out of it and get ambition to take care of herself and get her diabetes under control with weight loss. You are doing great!!! Bren
