June Sleevers!
I was sleeved June 8th, and my Dr still won't clear me for anything other than walking...

Why does your taste change after surgery?
To me, the drinks I loved before are all so salty now!

Birth control
Sleevers can't do Ibuprofen! I was shocked when my surgeon told me. I took Alieve daily. Now it's just Tylenol. I did Depo for three years. It caused me to stop having my cycle for the entire time, which caused PCOS.

NSV shout outs
Here is my first NSV! I am only two weeks out , but I am so happy to have anything to be happy about. I have lost 22.5 post op, total of 46 since pre op. 1. No more staples! 2. No more back pain in the morning! 3. MUST wear a belt with all shorts, or I have to hold my shorts up at the store :-) 4. Seat belt is easier to get on, and easier to get in and out of my car. I can't wait to have more NSV's

Birth control
I was going to do the patch, but cannot take Tylenol with that product. Sleevers already can't do Ibuprofen, take Tylenol out, nothing would be left!

Loss first month
Just had my two week check up. 22.5lb since June 8th. Total with pre op is 46.5lb. I thought that was low, but Dr was very happy. I'm just glad the staples are out!

Empty hungry feeling
Where did you get your surgery done? That paper is just like mine, maybe we got it done through the same Dr, and I can help out a bit.

Post op Smoking & Cheating. HELP!
Get a prescription for Chantix. Both my husband and I stopped with absolutely no problem in March. This was a requirement of surgery and our adoption. I only needed to take it for about a month, then I stopped. I cab truly say I week never smoke again. In the past, we did child turkey, vape pens, etc. This was amazing!

I wish I knew.....
I just had to have him sign off. I also am doing the Flintstones with iron. The cost difference is so with it! He just gave me a break down of the mg that I needed of specific vitamins.

How is your water intake? Each day my water intake gets easier and easier. At this point, it is hard to get the amount of protein without the shakes

June 8th sleevers?
My pain is pretty low as well, the hernia repair was actually worse. The staples are irritating to say the least. Holding my niece is impossible, and things touching them is painful. I get them out on Wed.

I wish I knew.....
My Dr gave me a choice of the bariatric advantage vitamins, or just taking a multi, iron, and calcium. I also take biotin, qo-q10. My monthly total is $17 vs this special vitamin.

I wish I knew.....
Why are your vitamins that much each month?

In addition to weighing my food, I also bought the Ziploc 4 oz containers. These help so much!

June Sleevers!
This was my first as well. I asked for an anxiety med during pre op. My nerves were shot. I only remember flashes after that. My husband said it was about 3 hours from when I left him until I was put in my room. My only pain was from my hernia repair. Morphine was a godsend! I slept most of that first day. The second day was so much better. I was walking around, doing water and sleeping.

Any teachers in here?!?
I am a middle school teacher. My Dr wanted to schedule for Christmas, but wanted me to take an additional week. I am saving my time for my adoption maternity leave that is also currently in process. I chose to wait until summer. I was sleeved June 8th. I an so glad I have time to get used to my new life! I an just worried about getting enough water and teach. I was joking that I might need a camel pack or use a beer hat (replace with water of course) :-)

June 8th sleevers?
How is everyone doing? I have had some challenges, but couldn't be happier with my decision! Water is my one issue, it is hard to get my 64. Height: 5'10" Highest weight: 374.4lb Weight day of surgery: 327lb Weight today: 312.2lb My average is 2.5lb everyday. I am never hungry, but my stomach does growl?? I am still cooking dinner for my husband, but I love to cook. I just usually take something from his meal and puree it with water. If that won't work, I go for fat free refried Beans and cheese or turkey chili. All still pureed with water, but still better than the Soups the Dr suggested. My salt meter is always going off. It feels like everything is drowned in salt! So how is everyone doing?
