  1. Thanks for the tip about the preg test! I'm notorious for going tinkle right before I'm informed the doc needs a urine sample. Lol!
  2. @@rln52 - I finally heard back. Scope on July 17, surgery on August 17. Woo!! How about you...have you heard??
  3. Dr. Carlton (He's from the Nicholson Clinic) in Plano.
  4. Ok, here's the deal. I've been researching the heck out of this surgery and have been lurking in lots of WLS forums...particularly those regarding the VSG as that's what I'll be having. I am, of course, getting a lot of conflicting information from the different forums. I want to do everything right, but some of those things are hard to know. Also, **sound the trumpets** I quit smoking on June 7 after having smoked for about 29 years. At this point, I think I'd be willing to stand in front of a firing squad just to have a last cigarette. <snort> Also, **sound the whoopie cushion** I discovered today after trying many different options, that I'm probably going to have to stop drinking coffee. It just tastes gross to me without the non-dairy creamer. <sob> I'm just feeling overwhelmed. So much information to digest...so little food to digest (soon). I pray I'm not setting myself up for failure by making so many changes all at once. Then again, maybe doing a complete overhaul all at once is good. Please let me know your thoughts. I'll be over in the corner pulling my hair out...ah, doody...that's supposed to happen on its own, too. <facepalm> XO
  5. @@RNsleever715 - "It's amazing how fast the weigh comes on and how slow it comes off. That should be against some rule somewhere!" I know, right??
  6. I will be getting my date soon, then the dreaded pre-op diet. I'm extremely nervous about it because I know I'll be hungry as all get out! I've seen others say what @@*susan* said, though. It's supposed to be better after a few days. Good luck!!
  7. @@desireat, that's great! I talked to my patient advocate yesterday who told me someone would be calling me yesterday to schedule my scope and surgery. No one called. Ack! I'm glad to see you finally got your date. I'm frantically reading everything on here in hopes of being ready. Best of luck!
  8. My first post on BariatricPal, and what better way to get started than with my fellow Texans!? Dallas here!
