  1. @@Kate, congratulations on your loss so far. How are you managing 100g protein a day? I'm really struggling ( mind you I'm only 5 days post op) Please pass on any tips for a good protein intake.
  2. OK, I've done a stupid thing, and weighed myself. Despite eating a total of 1400 calories in the LAST 5 DAYS, the scales say I've GAINED 3 pounds! I know it's my fault, and that its from all the fluids IV, but I'm still gutted. Fellow September sleevers, DON't weigh yourself post op, let me make that mistake for you all ????
  3. @@amberc Yes it seems a bit different here in the UK. I'm on full liquids for 2 weeks, then puréed for 2 weeks, then minced foods in week 5. You will be pleased to get home I'm sure.
  4. Managing well at home Really enjoyed a night in my own bed and a shower this morning. Just had 1 dose of pain meds today, paracetamol ( Tylenol in USA I think?) Managed Ready Brek thin porridge for breakfast, and soup for lunch. Still tired, and my calf muscles cramp when I walk upstairs.
  5. Always smiling You poor thing. I was so relieved to get my drain out, and I only had it 48 hrs. Good luck!
  6. I'm home, thank goodness. Delighted to be back. Had some soup for lunch. Exhausted, but happy
  7. I've just had my cup of tea, and 1/4 weetabix with milk to make it sloppy. Just waiting to get this drain out , then I can go home! Yay!
  8. Well, I've done it! Sleeve yesterday. Just passed my swallow test, and am hoping for a cup of tea! Fingers crossed I can get home tomorrow. Pain not too bad at all. Good luck, everyone!
  9. I'm Sept 3rd too I'm in the UK. I'm on day 11 of 15 day pre op diet. 2 pints skimmed milk, plus 3oz chicken or fish plus green salad each day. It's hard, and I don't have much energy, but I've lost 14 pounds so far!
  10. Hi my surgery is on the 4th. (in the uk) I have my pre op assessment on Friday 28th.. they haven't told me I need to be on a special diet yet! How are you finding it?? are you excited?? I'm slightly nervous!! Hi jay05Diet has been OK. I was really worried about it, but when I put my mind to it I CAN stick to a diet. The worst day was Saturday when I had to do an 8 hour drive home from Wales on holiday. Had my pre op yesterday , and that went OK Good luck to you.
  11. I'm September 3rd too. I'm in thé UK , and currently on my 2 week pre op diet. 2 pints skimmed milk per day, plus 3 oz white fish or chicken and green veg only.
  12. Hi I am due to have my op on 3rd September. I am in the UK, though, so don't always recognise the brand names people suggest for protein stuff. Pre op diet starts when I am on holiday. 3 pints skimmed milk a day for 2 weeks. Gulp!!!!
  13. I am due to have my sleeve on 3rd Sept Had my dietician appointment yesterday, and she told me not to drink for30 mins before a meal and 2 HOURS after!!!! Really? 2 hours? I was expecting maybe 1 hour? Is this advice unusual?
