  1. So I hope everyone is doing good!! Tonight was such a beautiful night we went shopping, then for a walk after we went to Chick-Fil-a for dinner. We went for a walk and talked to a few neighbors. Hope everyone else had a good day:)
  2. With the sleeve there are a lot LESS cases of vitamin deficiency. With gastric bypass people get low on vitamins and can not get caught up with mass injections
  3. How far is everyone walking? I made it almost to a mile yesterday, but now my right side hurts. Anyone?
  4. Hope your doing better today, Brian!!!
  5. Glad everyone is doing good!! I am eating puree, drinking well but not getting my protein in. I am doing ok with my vitamins, but I need to figure out a plan, right now everyday is different and it's hard. I am able to sleep on my right side, I put an ice pack on the large scar every night when I go to bed to help with swelling and it seems to help. I have been weighing everyday and have hit a stall with weight but, I know I am still on track. My clothes are getting bigger everyday. I have an outfit hanging up I wore to Disney world about 8 years ago, which I would love to be able to wear again!!! I also have the motivation of my one year old grandson:) I started out at 260 lbs at my first weigh in Feb. 2015, surgery day I weighed (June 15) 240lbs. Today 229. I have lots more to go as my goal is 160-165. Please tell us your story!!
  6. I didn't have by pass, but I did take some Gas X strips to get rid of some of the gas. Hope you get your answers today from the doctors office!!!! Praying for you!!
  7. Brian, I felt that way the night of surgery. I turned to my hubby and asked him what I got myself into. He is a smart man and didn't say anything. I am still a little swollen and very bruised. If you put an ice pack on the larger opening it helps bring down the swelling. That is the first thing I asked for after the ice chips. I have been putting one on since surgery in what ever places I feel tugs, it has helped.
  8. My first 3-5 days I could only get about 20-30oz in a day, then 5-7 I could get about 40-50. It does get better. Just keep drinking all day that your awake.
  9. I came home on a full liquid diet and they told me to try refried beans the next day. My dr also told me by the time I see him on July 1 for my check up I will be on soft foods and eating 6-9 teaspoons.
  10. I was told to only mix 4-5 ozs of liquid(almond milk, water, or whatever) to my protein shakes. I just started today with 4ozs of almond milk. Took me about 4-5 hours to get it all down. They said I might only get one down a day.
  11. How is everyone doing? I am doing great. I have been sneezing and it hurts a little but other than that, I am getting about 54+ ozs. A day with one protein shake and some soft foods.
  12. How is everyone doing? I took my hubby out for Father's Day yesterday, we went to Red Robin and I had some soup. It was nice to go out and have some family time.
  13. Have been doing really good. Yesterday I took my hubby to Red Robin for lunch for Father's Day. I ordered a cup of soup and ate a few bites but loved being able go out. I am done 13 lbs since surgery a week ago.
  14. My dr said no nuts, seeds or thing of the nature until 6 weeks out. I think it is different for every dr.
  15. Went out for the first time today. Temps here are 100 feels like 110-115. So went to a teacher store and walked around for about 30 mins and did fine except for feeling a little weak.
  16. I had my first outing today. The temp in Missouri is 100 feels like 110-115. Went to a teacher store and walked for about half an hour and did ok except for still feeling weak. I am drinking more fluids today an for lunch and dinner I am eating refried beans with a small spoonful of light sour cream. I still can not get my protein shakes in. Right side still a little tender, but only when I sit for awhile. Hope everyone is having a great day.
  17. I was sleeved on Monday and before surgery I would only drink water. About 80 oz a day. As of surgery water makes me physically ill. Tried drops and crystal Light and could not stand them either. I have been eating smoothies since surgery to stay hydrated. I have gone to the bathroom since surgery so I know I am not constipated. I want to be able to drink so I can move to the protein shakes:)
  18. I have an adjustable bed and have been sleeping with the head of the bed up. I can sleep on my side or back like that. It is to help with the gas and reflux.
  19. I ate some refried beans last night and all was good. My right side isn't as sore today. I am having trouble drinking water as nothing taste good. I bought different drops to put in and none taste good. Hope you all are doing good today.
  20. Today I woke up and my right side is not as sore. I ate a few bites of refried beans last night and all was good. Having trouble drinking water and the drops you add to it. Nothing taste good to drink, so I just push through it.
  21. Monday and Tuesday night was ruff. Puking up anything and everything that went in my body. Got to come home yesterday, had slept most of those three days. Today has been better. My right side is so sore!!! I got up and walked around the house for about 10 laps and didn't feel any difference in walking or not. I have tried to stay off all meds to try and stay awake today. Worked except I still took a nap. Getting a little more fluids in everyday. Hope all are doing well!!
  22. Walked around the house about 10 laps and didn't feel a difference from walking or not. Hope everyone is doing ok.
  23. Had two bad nights on mon and tues. got to come home yesterday and have been doing ok. Got in the shower today to wash my hair and try and get some of the stickies off. So far so good today.
