  1. Ok...I am going to jump into this group. As Long said, our June, 2008 group is not very active and we do not stay in touch on a daily basis. I just kind of bounce around on this board and have been feeling like I don't have a place to belong. I want to touch base each day with people I feel I KNOW. Don't get me wrong....love the girls in the June group, just need more contact. I get your addiction transfer, Janet. I, too, rely on LBT quite a bit but feel that it is a healthy, informative and positive addiction! Loved your "commercial" photo, Janet. Those white slacks and top looked great on you. I have been having fun lately filling up my closet with winter clothes and also been getting some great deals on summer ones (heading south for a couple of months this winter). Last week I was 4# from goal but had surgery on 9/30 and gained 7#. Not worried though. Figured that would happen. Other than being extremely sore from surgery, and very swollen, I feel like a new woman. I have had so much energy. ALL my aches and pains have diminished. A year ago I could hardly get out of bed without wincing. I am wearing size 8 jeans and will need to order size 6 soon as I can pull the size 8 down without unzipping them. So many NSV's over the last few months. I have a problem....don't ever want to feel like I'm bragging so most of the time I am afraid to share. Weird, huh? Guess it was the way I was raised. Anyway, want to join your thread....I feel the need to have more contact on a daily basis. You guys go ahead and take a vote...let me know if I made it in?
  2. BozzJ, thanks for the recipe. I'm going to give it a try
  3. Does anyone have some good recipes that includes different kinds of beans? Anyone know which beans have a higher protein count?
  4. Haven't dared to try bread products or pizza crust yet. Sorry you had such a negative experience. I have been stuck once...on a deviled egg. Lasted about 6 hours and was miserable. I had hard boiled eggs many times b/4 and they went down great. I am not so willing to try them ever again. We all learn after something like that, don't we?
  5. Karey...just want to wish you luck on your second time around. I know you had a tough decision to make on what you wanted to get done. Hope your recovery is a quick one. Take care
  6. Yesterday...clear liquids...basically nothing. Had hernia surgery. Today: B- Greek yogurt L- SF jello S- Greek yogurt No hunger today
  7. How sweet!
  8. Thanks Susan. I do really take good care of my body. I guess with living on a farm a person kind of forgets about how much they are lifting every day. I will be make an effort to be more aware. Do not want to go through any more hernia surgeries.
  9. Every aspect of my life has changed. The obesity cloud has lifted. It affected everything in my life. Socially, I hid out because I felt I was being judged because of my weight. Sexually, I hid out. Life is good. I wake happy every morning and love my new self
  10. OOPS...forgot to add...I'm one of those that love my own little ass.
  11. My DH would fit into that last category today. Could do with about 185# less ASS around here today.
  12. Livin4Jesus....Congrats on your weight loss so far. Sorry to hear about you continually losing your fills. Best to get it checked out and back on the road again. Keep us informed. Thanks for the prayers on my surgery. Had it done yesterday. Was a long day and got home about 9pm. Cannot take pain meds so was also a pretty long night. My husband didn't listen closely and was not sure if it was three or four hernia doc repaired. Also cut away some adhesions. I asked the nurse in recovery if he went in with a Kitchen Aid mixer (with the dough hook). Awfully sore today but I am tough and will recover quickly. I have spent my life lifting whatever....not any more. Hoping this is my last hernia surgery. Iteach... Nice to hear from you. Sounds like the band is really working for you. You sound happy about your results. Congrats! Losing....Could you Fed Ex me some of that butt and I, in turn, will send you some for your middle! Happy to hear you got away for a nice trip with DH. Me and DH have yet to go our for a meal in public. Just haven't had the opportunity yet. I have been out with friends a couple of times. Most of my friends are thin, eat like little piggies and don't want to share a meal. LOL. I don't mind having a few meals off of the leftovers. Thanks for the well wishes. Got a pretty good walk in this morning. Now it's back to bed for a couple of hours. You guys are so great to visit with. I'm happy and life is good.
  13. Nope, Plain, just a straight out "You'd better not lose any more weight". I guess I am frustrated because I have heard it so much in the last two months and am feeling soooo healthy and where I want to be. I do have patience for the type of "talk" you are explaining. I am a pretty easy going person and understand that most people mean well. Are you trying to tell me, Plain, that you have a tendency to stick a foot or two in your mouth? LOL
  14. Yeh...where are all you June Bugs. Would be nice to hear from all of you again. Thanks for the words, Cathy...I will bounce right back like I usually do. Not my first go around with this. I was wondering about Long today. Been a bit since she posted. Also, waiting to hear how Strike's move went. Hope you are getting settled in, Strike, and all is well.
  15. Thanks, I really try to just turn on a heel and head out of situations like this. Still gets to me sometimes. Good luck to you and wishing you a good trip down the Lapband road.
  16. Jachut...how true. Guess I never thought of the fact that I did not ever have someone push their negative thoughts on me when I was obese. Maybe behind my back but who cares. I do consider myself to be healthier than I have been for years. I work out, I make sure I get my nutrients and I truly have more energy than I did when I was 20 (33 yrs ago). I am happy for me and every day am thankful that I had enough guts to go through this. Thanks for the words of encouragement.
  17. I am a few pounds away from goal. My goal weight was discussed at the beginning of this process between my dr., myself, his team of nurses, my dietician and my husband. I am striving for a healthy weight and it's a reasonable one. I have lost count of the number of people (some are supposed friends) who think it is their responsibility to walk up to me in public and say: "You'd better not lose any more weight". Where do they get off? I just state that I am at goal (don't even want to explain I have a few more to lose) and I walk away. I have the friends that have been encouraging throughout this entire process. They are the ones that say that I have not looked more healthy and happy and are pushing for me to get to goal. Guess I just answered my own question........stick with what my friends say that have been there for me and blow the others off.
  18. Thanks Brown bear for the encouragement. I will try to make the most of the down time. Hang in there until you can get a fill. I know that b/4 I had my second fill, hot liquids (warm) like broth, tea and coffee helped keep me from being too hungry. You've done great so far and hopefully you will hit your sweet spot soon.
  19. Dino....great NSV with the new pants size. Each one of those moments are so much fun! Allie...try not to drive yourself nuts with the plateaus. We all have them. Do yourself a favor and see if you can ignore the scale for awhile. Your husband is right. Try to calm down about it all. Before you know it your numbers will be going down again. Cathy..........HELLO....about time we hear from you again (just kidding...think we all just missed hearing from you). Sounds like you are setting the world on fire with your new found energy. You go girl! Still plan on stopping somewhere in TN to meet you on our way to FL. Looking forward to it. Now that we booked our trip (cabin in the Ocala Nat. Forest) our son informed me over the weekend that he is looking at a job in Delaware. Will just have to use our Alaska Airline miles to go and see him if he moves there. Hope he is still in Daytona when we get down there but, if not, we still would have gone somewhere warm for a couple of months. Waiting to hear what time my surgery is tomorrow. Just want it behind me. Not looking forward to the few weeks of down time. Have books and movies lines up. I am fairly independent and can't handle not doing my own work. I always say that I am not a perfectionist but very close to being one. Another cross to bear. I will sit and watch the mud getting dragged into the house and cringe. Hope everyone had a good weekend. We are having a beautiful fall. Weather is perfect. Life is good.
  20. B- Greek yogurt L- 3oz grilled chicken strips/2Tbls LF mayo, lettuce wrap S- SF popsicles (2) D- 2 Turkey Jimmy Dean sausage/salsa on top S- 5 calorie per cup chicken brothe
  21. CherylAnn....put your GLASSES on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I definitely can see a huge difference. You have developed a very nice shape. Keep at it, girl. You are on your way. Congrats!
  22. Strike...just want to wish you luck on your new move. Sounds like your life has been crazy lately. Hopefully, you will meet some new lapband buddies in your new city. Once you get you "stuff" moved and unpacked, things should settle down for you. Let us know how things are going for you. It's nice to have each other on LBT when things get crazy.
  23. B- 5oz Greek yogurt with SF Banana syrup L- Leftover stuffed mushroom and chix bake D- Crusted (lightly) Talapia 2oz and steamed baby carrots (3) Visited dr. today and I now have a BMI of 24...such a good day in my life.
  24. Long...I am satisfied most of the time but know I will most likely need a small fill a month from now at my next appt. I am a little wishy-washy on the subject of fills. It's not an extreme hunger that I feel, it's just that hour I wait after eating and then when I drink fluids, I never fell hunger the rest of the day until the hour after the next meal. Weird, huh? Will just wait and see what this next month brings. If you have been losing 10lb a month and that has slowed, maybe you will want to get that fill. You've done great so far with your 63lb loss. Please do not get discouraged. I hit a sort of plateau in August, bumped up my calories a bit and then lost. OK...Cathychatts....where the heck are you???????????
