Stomach stretching
@@ehedary You are supposed to be able to eat more as time goes on, that is called healing. The restriction you have at the very beginning is not your real restriction. When I was 6 weeks out I could eat 5 ounces of baked fish because it basically turns to mush in your mouth, but I could only eat 2 ounces of chicken breast. Saying you can eat 4-5 ounces doesn't mean much without saying 4-5 ounces of what. liquids? Dense Protein? I can eat 3 cups of salad greens, but I can only eat 4 ounces of steak. How much you can eat depends on what you are eating.

Well I think it is inexpensive, I mean $60 is about average, but some people act like it is a lot, so I am pretending that it is a lot so people on the internet don't get mad.

@@laceemouse The store I go to has them right with the regular bras, they don't come in every style obviously but they are not hidden away. I'll take a picture next time I am in there. The store I go to is in the largest mall here, next time I am in a smaller mall, I will check there. I think they just added these sizes though. I just start shopping at VS in the past few weeks.

Yogurt
I don't like yogurt. I don't eat it. Just because people are eating yogurt doesn't mean you have to. Like you I went through a lot of yogurt options and came to the conclusion I don't just dislike yogurt, I HATE it. There are lots of other options for Protein. And I find the macros on yogurt, even the "good" yogurt to suck. Find something you like that fits your plan, it doesn't have to be yogurt.

@@higher Soma is a brand with their own stores usually at higher end malls and shopping centers. I have only purchased the stunning support line and they are well worth the $60 price tag (and at my size I can't get a bra for less than $50 anyway). I am a DDD or a G cup depending on the cut of the bra, so don't have a ton of bra options and I need something comfortable. Their bras are comfortable, well made, pretty, and they do a lot of work. They smooth the side and the back. They have a back smoothing line, I haven't tried it but I will next time I am in the store. I wear the stunning support line https://www.soma.com/store/category/stunning-support/cat8589275 I have the full coverage and the strapless.

@@higher https://www.victoriassecret.com/bras/just-in-body-by-victoria The bras in the body by victoria collection are nice. I have always thought VS bras were crap too, and a lot of them are because they are designed for people that don't NEED a bra, but are just wearing one. Soma has the best bras but the full coverage body by Victoria feels pretty nice. It doesn't have the lift that Soma has though. @@KristenLe I was getting so frustrated trying to swim, because I floated so much at the end. It is hard to swim when you float that much, you aren't getting the work out that you could. I have not been swimming since weight loss, but I should try it soon. The skin/flab is annoying, sometimes it hurts and even makes noises. Still it is totally worth it. I can stuff it all in clothes or shapewear and I look good. The number of people that will ever see me naked is pretty low, while the number of people that will see me fully clothed looking good is very high. I honestly think the loose skin argument is just the final cop-out of people that are afraid of surgery. It is just like people having their family and "friends" tell them that they won't look right small. It is just stuff to hold people back from being great.

How do you look normal?
@@BarefootDrummer The only people I have found that pay a lot of attention to what I eat are cheap men on dates. Most people do not pay as much attention to what you eat as you think. I get something that makes it easy to ignore I am not eating that much. salad with a Protein (chicken, steak) Eat all the meat, push the salad around. At a year out, I can eat a chicken Cesar salad almost the whole thing (depending how large) no issues (salad greens are a slider). Order a sandwich, eat the meat cheese out, and tell people you are low carbing. It is really pretty easy to do. Just get an appetizer. I didn't eat out with other people until about 3 months. By the time you are 6 months, you should be able to eat enough to really not draw attention to yourself. The amount of time you can only eat a tiny amount is pretty short, unless you have some kind of complication. At a year out, no one would question what I eat, I eat like a lady is supposed to. Also not sure where you live, but going to Tapas places and sharing with friends is also great, everyone is eating a little of a lot of things no one will pay attention to what you are or aren't eating. Lastly, as long as you ear protein first, almost no one in America will ever say anything about you not eating your veggies, sadly.

Sugar addiction help !
@@Nikkinee You can eat whatever you want with the sleeve and bypass really. Surgery is not going to stop you from eating or stop you from making bad choices. Like others have said, therapy will probably be more help to you. Also, cook your own deserts, make them low carb. It is expensive, time consuming and requires specialty items. If you can only eat sweets if you make them, you will eat them less.

Always push of you think is something is wrong
I'm glad you went to the Dr when you felt something was wrong. Too many people ask here what they should, when they should be in the ER.

Hand on your heart - how bad were the first few days after getting sleeved?
In the hospital I had more pain that was caused by the morphine than was solved by it. Every time they gave me a shot it made my intestines hurt, so I stopped taking it. Then things were better in the hospital. I didn't really have any pain the first week, I stopped taking the meds. I was able to drink and eat pretty easily, just felt like strep throat. The worst part was the shoulder pain and I think that came a week or so later, and that was terrible. It was a dull ache that nothing helps but time. Overall it was pretty easy. I do have a high pain tolerance, and I am one of the few women that will say child birth doesn't hurt that bad, so keep that in mind.

Protein goals and hair loss
I have to agree Biotin is useless unlike you enjoy having terrible skin. Keeping your Iron up and adding Zinc (if you test low, don't just willy nilly add zinc), and meet your Protein goals so your hair grows back.

Weight Loss Surgery Patients: Just Like Anyone Else...But A Little Different
This article is so on point. So many people see life through fat tinted lenses, that they are blinded to the fact that other people have the same struggles. This weekend I was trying on clothes and 2 other ladies were in the dressing room. One was complaining to her friend that she had to get size 10 at this store, but she normally wears an 8. The friend responded "The size doesn't matter as long as it fits right", with an exasperated voice. These were two thin young woman that don't look like they have ever struggled with weight. A lot of the women here, myself included, complain about clothing sizes but that isn't an issue exclusive to WLS patients, all women have the same gripes.

List of necessities and pricing
A lot less than food. It depends though. Where I live there is a chain called supplement super store and they sell supplements at whole sale, so I can get a container of Syntrax nectar for $27.99 In the beginning I kept 2 12 packs of Premier, that cost is going to vary but I catch them for $16.88 at Sams One container of Syntrax Nectar 27.99 Lasted a month or so Unflavored Protein $37 I never finished that container and ended up throwing it out at 9 months so it lasted a long time. There was nothing wrong with it, but once I got on soft foods, I just didn't use it anymore. If you break it out by meal cost, Protein shakes are $1-2 per serving. My Vitamins at first came free with my B-12 script, so I didn't pay. I used vitamins before surgery so that wasn't a new expense.

Hanging fat pockets
Massages to break the fat pocket up, deep tissue ones, they are going to hurt you might bruise. Then walking or running. The only thing you can do is lose more weight, but massages to break it up will help a lot.

Change of plans
I don't think I would get the DS at that weight, you will end up like skelator. The DS is the most extreme WLS and it provides the most WLS. It is great for people that are super massively obese, but I think your Dr is right the sleeve would be enough for you.
-
PCP anti wls
Just switch Doctors. If you are serious about surgery, might as well do it now, because his opinion isn't going to change and you are going to get crap from him for now on. Find a new dr, and make them order your records.

Ulcers before surgery?
The sleeve is a treatment for ulcers so depending where they are it might not matter or they might suggest bypass.
-
Celiac "Come On"
Your Dr said the sleeve makes celiac worse? I read one study where they treated obese people with celiac with the sleeve to help them. The sleeve post-op diet is gluten free really, so that should help your condition. Did they explain why the sleeve makes it worse?

How to Shop in Prep for Procedure
Buy and stock up on very little. Purchase as you go because you might get bored, your tastes might change, and you will definately have moods. I had extra protein for months and I ended up throwing it away.

Does anyone know...
@@kelliev2015 Mainly I think the reason are BS. They are one size fits all crap recommendations based on Gastric Bypass patients. I found that I wasn't take my Vitamins as regular as I did pre-op because I hate fake sweets and nothing is worst than nasty fake sweet vitamins. So I stopped take the chewables and went back to my normal vitamins which were super high quality. Just ask your Dr about it and see if you can get a real answer and not a canned one.
