  1. @@LipstickLady oh no you are being stalked I think I have posted enough for one night and will head back to my Rosetta Stone Spanish Lessons.
  2. Good question. Kind of reminds me of the Bob Dole ads for Viagra and then Pepsi: But seriously, fear of developing ED is one of the many reasons guys finally break down and get WLS. http://www.webmd.com/erectile-dysfunction/news/20081031/obesity-linked-to-erectile-dysfunction High blood pressure caused ED is one the most common comorbidities men will bring up with their doctor. So along with, HB, BPH and diabetes, obese men have lower levels of the male hormone testosterone, which is important for sexual desire and producing an erection. So one of the long term benefits of weight loss and exercise is improved erections. So if you give it time and see improvement @@LipstickLady logo should give you a boner sooner or later.
  3. @@Alex Brecher oh how I hear your. I am only 5'6" and luckily my mom taught me to take hem, cause by the time I find something that fits me I have to either pay a tailor or special order it. So many of the loose fitting pants I have to buy end up looking like harem or balloon pants. Not a good look for short guys.
  4. @@CanyonBaby I am jealous It seems these infused flavors have not hit the nutrition wasteland I live in. So far I have been using lemon juice, Frank's Red Hot, and Worcestershire sauce to give the bland broths some flavor. Your suggestion to use a cheesecloth bag is 'food Network' ingenious. The cheesecloth will give me a chance to try a bay leaf, chopped parsley and cilantro without worrying about stray bits in the broth. Thank you.
  5. So my FITBIT and Accupedo apps do not agree. One tells me I did 5.56 miles and 12,485 steps, while the other says 6.03 miles and 14,476 steps. One is motion based the other is GPS based. Yep, I am like a kid with a new toy. Will probably evaluate a few other devices and applications just for the fun of it. So I am supposed to do at least 10,000 steps a day: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Get-Fit/What-is-the-average-steps-per-day/m-p/81625#M1959
  6. When comments like that come from a guy we take him to be a jerk. But I've found that when I don't keep my mouth shut and try to be supportive by saying something like, "you are beautiful person and should be comfortable with who your are," it is like biting the hook for an even more painful conversation. Follow up lines like, "if do something about your weight, do it for your health and not vanity," gets me hauled in even more until I somehow manage to get the emotional mallet on the head. So I am sorry to hear that my gender, clumsily trying to be supportive, fails so badly at it.
  7. @@Italian Gal You are so right. Somehow the industry doesn't use plus size gals like Klyker, but would instead just put on the smallest size on a slightly meaty gal. The US industry should seriously consider doing what they are starting to do in the EU, self regulate to use bigger models that aren't size 0 or face the possibility of the government (e.g. Italy) passing a law that forces them to use common sense. Maybe then fewer teenage girls will develop terrible eating disorders from the constant bombardment of unrealistic body image. Sorry if I made this rant a little too serious.

@@Terribj feel free to post pictures. Just kidding.
  9. Wow. That is a tall order. I am only recommending the following site because it includes nutritional information and some reviews: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/10-best-tasting-vegan-protein-powders.html There are several Organic Whey's, but even products like "NOW" are only around 19 grams of Protein per serving. Natural Force sells an organic whey 20 gram per serving product http://www.mynaturalforce.com/products/organic-whey-protein Source Organic carries an Organic non-GMO whey, but you will pay a premium for products in that category: http://source-organic.com/ If you find something with 30 grams of protein, please post as I am interested too.
  10. The weeks before surgery are usually a challenge for everyone I talk with. Don't obsess about it, because after surgery it gets easier. The purpose of the pre-op diet is to (1) help shrink your liver to make surgery easier for the surgeon (2) see if you can tolerate and stick to a liquid Protein diet. Don't obsess if you catch yourself cheating 'cause tomorrow is another day. Too many people sneak in those 'one last meal' big dinners while they are on pre-op diet. Don't do that to yourself, because it defeats purpose No. 1 Every day is a brand new day, an opportunity to make changes and improve ones life. Having been a human clothes rack when shopping with friends and family at Plus stores like Lane Bryant I can testify to how much happier women become when they can shop at "regular stores." Good luck.
  11. I saw the price and asked the ladies about them. Their advice about possible nipple irritation is to use talcum powder. At 78 dollars a pop, the Spanx brand name is a bit pricey. I might as well wait until I get nearer my goal weight. By then my flapjacks will need them because the boys will be saggy instead of perky.
  12. @@OKCPirate Do you find that the Nike Dri-FIT Phenom Vapor compression shorts get less stinky than regular compression shorts? For some reason compression shorts get ripe after just a few hours. It must be the material or something. I've never bought the Nike brand so am wondering if it is worth the extra expense.
  13. A-shirts that seem to spin around and make it seem like one moob is in business for itself. Haven't worn an A-shirt in years because of this.
  14. Lord forbid I have to suddenly lunge forward in my jeans. As I got bigger all my favorite brands would just bust my balls. I had to buy some Duluth ballroom pants 'cause even my Wrangler loose fitting jeans didn't like my butt anymore.
  15. I once thought I was being smart about cracks in callouses and my diabetic foot issues. I use to be a good brother and buy raw coconut butter for my sister's pregnancy stretch marks. Stuff worked wonderfully on her skin. So I tried it on my cracked feet and slipped out of my socks and fell one night. So the ladies at work told me about shea butter. Who am I to look down at hundreds of years experience with African health and beauty products. Stuff worked wonderfully. The cracks in my callouses healed and the skin on my feet are nicely hydrated. Going back to shoes, I ended up ordering Rockport Eurekas and New Balance 928's. If I find the brands you gents suggested at the mall, I will try them out. The Brooks Beast is a great looking running shoe, but at $150 it is out my frugal price range. Thanks again.
  16. @@James Marusek Good advice regarding the antibiotics and probiotics. I've been taking Ultimate Flora with 30 Billion live cultures per capsule. Having learned from the effects of antibiotics from a previous surgery it is a good idea to build up a healthy flora early on. The green poops are due to bile not being digested. Apparently green is one of the first colors of the digestive track. So hopefully things will slow down and brown will come back to town. I too am lactose intolerant. Have been using products from
  18. @ A little less 4 now on So far from the posts I've read, it gets better. The post-VSG blues are normal. Once you get to the point where you are exercising, supplementing and progressing on the liquid diet you will start to feel better. I am only 4 weeks out from having the VSG and have gradually been feeling better. I too am wondering about that pouch brain disconnect about hunger. Others have reassured me that the conditioning improves over time and with proper Protein and Water intake. Walked by my nemesis KFC today and did not feel a need to check out the menu.
  19. For what I use it for, it works great. I buy it at Walmart. They also make a women's product. The comedian Larry the Cable Guy popularized it on one of his shows. The version for men doesn't smell perfumed like some other brands. Their website is http://www.antimonkeybutt.com/products/
  20. First day using it and I am impressed with it and the website. The ability to create a meal plan, workout and track all my walking was worth the 89 bucks. Even the caloric restriction and weight loss goals can all be entered on their site. If this works out for me, I might buy the unit with heart rate monitor, GPS and Caller ID (SURGE). It is kind of silly of me to be wearing both a Polar Heart Rate monitor and a FITBIT. Is it worth it to join the premium version of the FITBIT website?
  21. @@CanyonBaby Thank you for the advice. It will be a new use for the talcum calamine based "Anti Monkey Butttm" powder I stocked up on. Now I will probably order one shirt and see how it goes.
  22. Not to go too far off topic ladies, but do you find the compression from the material used in Spanx too restrictive. I'm thinking of getting Spanx for men compression shirts and am concerned that the material will be too irritating on my moobs. From the rants forums, you ladies say you don't mind guys posting here and from the overwhelming number of ladies I'm sure I'll get a constructive response regarding Spanx. Janeane Garofalo use to sing their praises.
  23. Good, good, the sympathy ploy. @@Daveo you have now invited men to go post in the ladies forums instead of just trolling them. I see a good topic in the forum about bra sizes heading over there to post now.
  24. Complete opposite of how I feel. Fear of hurting myself is what is keeping me in check right now. If it weren't for the pouch, I would be finish off 14 oz shakes instead of the scheduled 8 oz / 250 calories.
  25. My gastroenterologist did not answer this one for me so I had to find the answer online: http://www.webmd.com/women/features/digestive-problems Now that I know it is undigested bile from my low fat diet, I am wondering if any of you gents have gone through this and how long it lasts? Being an optimist, I guess I should think of these as being environmentally friendly bowel movements.
