  1. She tried wvu but I think her insurance may be the problem. She is in the process of trying to get a different insurance. My mom is just getting so frustrated that no one wants to help her or point her in the right direction. They just give her vague reasons why they don't want to do it. She hasn't even had a consult with a surgeon because she can't get past the front desk.
  2. No they just say the surgeon won't attempt it because it could be complicated.
  3. She had that removed already. They don't suggest anything else. They just say nope can't do it. Which doesn't make sense to me
  4. Can anyone point me in he right direction? My mother has stomach stapling in the 80's which came undone. She needs gastric bypass surgery now but has been turned down by a couple of Bariatric centers. Is it possible to have gastric bypass after stomach stapling and if so where should we seek help ? We live in WV. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. "If you would have just used will power you could've followed the same diet by just eating a handful and not had surgery." ...wow I never knew it was that easy. Lol stupid me.
  6. I'm 2 weeks out and am experiencing the same burning pain. It definitely feels like it is in the muscles. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.
  7. Yeah sounds right. Mine stopped after day 4. Thanks for the info.
  8. Just wondering. Were you able to sleep in the bed after surgery? I've been sleeping in a recliner for 6 days, but wondering if I'm able / ready to try to sleep in my comfy bed.
  9. 10lbs. But on my way back down since surgery 11-30-15. No worries.
  10. I just had RNY gastric bypass two days ago and I am occasionally getting very very flushed red face. Seems to be after I drink things other than water. My surgeon didn't seem concerned. This happen to anyone else?
  11. Excellent point @JamieLogical. Thanks for the insight.
  12. @@BLERDgirl What type of surgery did you have?
  13. Thanks so much Babbs! For the info and the compliment . I know a few people that have had the sleeve and they are doing awesome. I'm kinda worried about the malabsorption with gastric bypass but I want the the best surgery / tool to get this weight off and keep it off. Your info has helped calm my worries about gastric bypass. I still have a lot of thinking to do.
  14. I was wondering about regrets also. I'm trying to decided between the sleeve or roux en y. My bmi is >50. I've recently read posts on another site with people regretting gastric bypass due to worsening health problems as the years pass. I'd love to hear honest, non-sugarcoated responses.
  15. Just curious. Because I'm 330 lbs I can not wear shoes with any heel ( it kills my feet). Has anyone had the same problem which has been resolved after losing weight ?
  16. . I'm in the same boat. I just recently decided to get the sleeve and my first appointment is June 18th. I'm just worried that my insurance will not pay for some reason. I don't have many comorbidities but I'm 5'4" 330 lbs.
  17. Did anyone over 300 pounds have any trouble getting insurance to pay for the sleeve?
