  1. I lost about 24 pounds on the two week pre op diet and am down 70 from my first weigh in about a month before surgery (weighed on 4-27-15 surgery 5-21-15)
  2. I am almost two months out and only weigh on Mondays. Sometimes it goes down and once it actually went up, don't ask me how! I usually see about a 5 pound per week drop but I understand it doesn't always happen like I want.

  5. Prior to surgery I was addicted to catsup and coffee. Now I haven't used catsup but just very very little and coffee just does not taste right. I still look at potato chips with a longing but I am trying to stay strong now....
  6. I am about 6 weeks out too and can eat (not supposed to though) just about anything. Nothing I have tried has been any problem but I find that after a bite or 3 I have no interest in the food anymore. At least keep up in your Protein (something I personally am having a problem with) and hopefully soon things will ease for you.
  7. YES. 4 weeks out and I usually chew 2-3 tums per day. I have never taken the 24 hour meds before but it is becoming regular enough that I am going to check into them
  8. Thanks all. I hope its just Water. I weigh at our local health unit with one of the scales that you move the weight back and forth on the top so I think its pretty accurate. Only work shirt pants nothing in my pockets both times. Its a mystery but hopefully it will not be there next week!!

  10. I swear last week the scale at the local doctors office said 313 and today it said 318. A 5 pound gain? I cant eat anything nor have I eaten anything. I know about the stalls but this has me stumped.

  14. I received my (small) jar of unflavored unjury Protein in the mail today (that stuff is too expensive to use every day!!). At this point soups, cream soups or broth has absolutely no appeal to me. This evening after finishing my second Protein Drink it was all I could do to keep it down. I am going to go back to my literature given to me by the doctor and review it regarding this again.
  15. I make a protein drink with a chocolate powder (two scoops 40 grams protein 12 oz of skim milk 10 grams protein) twice daily. I don't think I can stand it much longer. Its not that its nasty its just the flavor stays with me for awhile and I am just about to try anything as a change. Suggestions?

  17. Hey Jamieq!! I am not an expert and am only on my 6th day out but what I was given does not specifically exclude spicy. I would just start on the mild side and work my way to a little more as you see how it affects you!! Hope you get there!!

  19. I can only wonder if you had followed your pre op diet would you have had such a terrible recovery?

  22. If your insurance company is requiring this then look to the end at least and say "look how much money I saved!!". Self pay for the doctor, hospital and anesthesia is not cheap. I personally don't see the need in restricting it THAT much, I am on my last day of two weeks of liquids with two cups of vegetables per day. I have lost about 30 pounds in two weeks on a starvation diet but I am looking forward to the next month and two months when I can really begin to show results. Stick in there, you are doing great with 50 gone already!

  25. Meet with doctor, pre-registered and all set for Thursday. As with everyone I have some jitters and uncerntainty but I am ready for the changes ahead, mainly the smaller clothes and being able to sit in movie and restaurant seats without having to wiggle to get out of them!!

  27. My diet is Water, diet soda, broth, two cups steamed or raw vegtables, sugar free Jello. I asked and was told I can have a small amount of grilled chicken breast so yesterday I splurged and had a half a can of white chicken, teaspoon of mayo and about 4 chopped pickles. I had to have something to eat or I would not have made it much further. I see lots of people saying they did not have to start a diet until two days befor and others two weeks before. I am glad of the weight that has dropped off, if only it could have happened while I was eating my favorite pizza!!
  28. Sorry started diet on the 7th
