  1. Great words of wisdom from everyone. I'm still debating on spreading the word. I had my surgery 2 days ago. A few close friends and my family are very supportive. I'm very lucky to have them. I just need to prepare myself on what to say when an acquaintance asks me.
  2. Thank you for support! I feel a lot better today. Woke up at 1:30 am and walked around my house for about 45 min. It helped immensely :-)
  3. I had surgery yesterday too but I'm not feeling so good my stomach hurts whenever I try to drink something. I don't take gulps just sips. The nurses at the hospital told me that's normal. Is there anyone else who have experienced this?
  4. I have a question. Does your stomach feel tight and in knots whenever you drink something? Help me! I feel like I'm not getting enough water
  5. I'm getting ready to leave the hospital. I was sleeved yesterday morning. Thank goodness for morphine pump! I woke up today feeling great. I walked around the hospital every 2 hours. I tried to eat some chicken broth from the hospital and I couldn't take the whole bowl. Just had 3 spoons and a little medicine cup of water. I was full!! This is going to work. I'm so excited for the future :-)
  6. My surgery is tomorrow! Good luck to you all! It works be nice to keep in touch with everyone! I have a feeling I'm gonna need it
  7. I am also getting surgery done tomorrow! The reason your hunger is drastically reduced is because hunger receptors on your stomach (that connect to your brain) pouch are removed and you are left with a smaller (less receptors) stomach. I'm in el paso tx
  8. I LOVE YOU FOR THIS !!! Thank you so much. I cannot wait to get to my post op stage. I have surgery on Monday
  9. You just subscribe to the topic titled "May sleeveers where are you" it's in the Pre op discussions forum
  10. I see. I asked the surgeon and he said he'll only require liquid diet if you have existing conditions that may increase risk for complications during surgery. He just said for me not to gain weight. I do however need to drink only clear liquids the day before surgery. Can anyone give me an example of a typical day on a liquid diet? Broth jello and what else? Sheesh its gonna be tough! Congrats to you all who have stuck with it for 2 weeks!
  11. Thank you so much for posting! I have my surgery on Monday the 18th :-D you definitely helped ease my nerves!
  12. Join the May sleevers group! :-)
  13. I have federal bcbs too but I'm worried about the copay. My family and I have a tight budget. Has anyone made payment arrangements with the hospital for a copay? My surgery is on May 18
  14. My surgeon didn't require a pre op diet, is this normal? My insurance required me to be on a medically supervised diet for 3 months which I finished April 15. I've kept the changes I made during the diet ( 0 cal sugar, cooking with pam, whole wheat Pasta etc) with occasional cheating I'm scheduled for May 18 for gastric sleeve surgery
  15. Just registered on this site, my surgery is scheduled for May 18th!! So excited and a little bit nervous!
