  1. Thanks, same to you. Let us know how you're doing.
  2. Nicole, mine is early Monday at Crestwood with Dr Foreman. How about yours?
  3. Nicole, I'm having surgery Monday at Crestwood in Huntsville. Where is yours at?
  4. Monday morning for me as well here in Huntsville, Al. Good luck all.
  5. First: packing list for the hospital. I know it isn't a long stay, but any suggestions for making it easier? Second: Am I going to feel like walking as I get home from the hospital? I'm anxious to start after reading how good it is for recovery. Thanks in Advance
  6. Aug 10th date for me. My surgeon has never mentioned a pre-op liquid diet, but I decided to do it on my own as of today. Won't hurt to lose a few more pounds before surgery and I'm moving beyond those last minute cravings for foods I won't need afterwards (bad carbs and sugary foods).
  7. My surgery is scheduled for August, looking for some help please. I use coconut oil for cooking and occasionally have a teaspoon as a supplement. Any one know of issues with it post surgery? Thx
  8. Between work, the kids summer sports and vacation, I decided to wait until my kids went back to school and we finished what we had planned for the summer. This surgery wasn't something I wanted to rush into and I'm very happy to have between now and Aug 5th to gather as much information as I can, prepare physically and mentally for post surgery and enjoy the summer activities with my family. Step back, breath and try to enjoy the time between now and your surgery. Best of luck.
  9. Aug 5th on my end, good luck.
  10. Decided to wait until post summer vacations and the kids are back in school, but glad to have a date for my bypass. I'm the first one in my family willing to address my weight issues and look for a healthier lifestyle change with WLS. Anyone else with surgery scheduled in that time period looking for a buddy, hit me up. Thanks to all that post and share on this site, it's been a great source of information these past couple of months.
  11. Thanks all for the terrific suggestions, all greatly appreciated!
  12. Thank you everyone, appreciate all the great advice.
  13. I'm still a few months from my gastric bypass, but wondering if anyone can offer advice on how to handle existing condition medications after surgery. I'm currently on high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes medications that are all pill type. While I have very high hopes the surgery will alleviate those two medical conditions, I'm not sure I cant stop these medications right after surgery. I know I will need to speak with my surgeon and general practice MD's, but would really like to hear from the folks that have actually been there. Help-advice greatly appreciated. Thanks
  14. Hi WesTan2014, I'm looking at late July for my bypass. Wanted to see if anyone in this area had surgery with Dr Foreman at Crestwood hospital. Looks like you have done great at six months. Thx Cutwater
  15. Looking for anyone that has had Gastric Bypass in the HSV area.
  16. Starting to look for a quality food processor for post surgery. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
