  1. I don't want to frighten you but please get the lump checked out as I had a lump and I just ignored it ,it turned out to be an abscess which burst causing blood poisoning and resulted in life saving emergency surgery ..
  2.    Gopheritgirl reacted to a post in a topic: Diarrhoea 8 weeks post op
  3. Thank you Cervidae that's what it feels like ...I've been taking probiotics for the last four weeks so I hope it sorts it out ????
  4. I had my RNY Gastric bypass just over 8 weeks ago I have managed to progress through the food stages and have been tolerating each stage quite well until a couple of days ago. I have suddenly developed diarrhoea and I'm not sure why?...my last meal was chicken and salad and I've tolerated that well before ... Since then I've gone back to my protein shakes to give my stomach a rest .... Has anyone else been through a similar experience? If it doesn't get better in a couple of days I'm going to see my doctor .
  5. I had 40 staples from my open bypass surgery although removing them was not painful just slightly uncomfortable I ended up with an infection and 6 weeks post op I'm still sore and healing ...
  6.    Gopheritgirl reacted to a post in a topic: Very bad back pains
  7. I'm 10 days post surgery and am also experiencing back pain .... As I had open surgery I think it's just because my stomach muscles are sore and I'm over compensating with my back .
  8. Four days to go till my surgery I've been on optifast for the last four weeks and have lost 10 kgs (22lbs) I'm nervous and excited at the same time ..., can anybody share how long they were in surgery and in hospital for ?
  9. Hi Erin are you able to send the link again I can't find it Cheers ????
  10. I'm getting excited I've got my surgery date sept 7th I'm also getting nervous ????
  11. After 12 yearsI had my band removed just over a year ago due to erosion , I had no pain or symptoms except regaining half of my original weight loss however within weeks I had to have emergency surgery due to an infected abscess caused by the removal of the band .im all healed now and have continued to stay around the same weight I was band removal . My surgeons have advised me that due to excessive internal scarring that BPDS is that best option for me so I'm now awaiting a surgery date .
  12. In response to Cowgirl Jane's question my team of surgeons decided that the DS was the better option as I have a lot of scarring on my actual stomach due to the lap band erosion and apparently a sleeve would've been more risky as the scars may cause leakage where as with the DS they can cut it away from the scars .
  13. Thank you for the reply B52 that does make sense ...I intend to continue to work out I just don't won't to lose so much weight that I look gaunt but I guess my protein intake would help with that ..,,
  14. Has anybody here had DS surgery after having their lap removed due to erosion, because of the scarring the erosion caused my surgeon has advised me that this is the best option for me and after a lot of research I agree . I'm just wondering what experiences good or bad others have had and also can you lose too much weight and if so how do you stop that ?
