  1. I'm not due in until noon and surgery at 2pm. I hate having to wait all morning to go in! I have no poop medicine, is that a good thing or bad thing? Lmao! Yeah my heart is just pounding sometimes and going "is this real? Am I really doing this?" And then I get excited about thinking about afterwards.
  2. Yeah, I'm the same way. I'm really nervous that I'll fail and disappoint myself and my family.
  3. Awesome! Any post-op suggestions, @@rowebaught? For diet, pain management, anything?
  4. Awesome! Thanks for all the tips. Anybody have any good recipes for post-op (any stages)? I'm hoping I don't lose my taste for Greek yogurt because I love it now.
  5. Good luck to everybody else going in tomorrow! I'm having a little cold feet, I've never had surgery before and it's scary, but reading this site has helped me get even more excited. My doc didn't make me do clear liquids before, but my dinner tonight will be a nice broth.
  6. I hate jello so I'm a little nervous about post-op but I've been living on protein shakes and Greek yogurt so far and it's been good. Good luck!!
  7. I've lost about 15 since starting liquids. We'll see what I weigh in as on the day!
  8. @@kimby1029, where are you getting yours done?
  9. It's so close! I'm freaking out and trying to distract myself so I don't totally panic. I'm excited though.
  10. This doesn't seem that active anymore, but hi Mass sleevers! I'm getting sleeved Tuesday. Excited and scared! I'm at Norwood Hospital with Dr. Glasgow.
  11. @@ohh_mandyy Thanks! @@RaginCajun, thank you for your honest input too! I see a therapist regularly and we've discussed this for a long time. I don't know why that doesn't reassure me more, but I've always had a fear of failing and I've always felt like I take the easy way out, and this time, I wanted to take a risk and do something hard. The easy way out would be to stay overweight. And even though there's a part of my brain screaming "No! What about pizza!?", it doesn't seem to be as strong as the part of my brain telling myself all the good things I'll get to experience after this. I've been doing great on my liquid diet, and I know that doesn't mean much, but it makes me proud because I'm starting to have confidence in myself.
  12. I am scared to death! Excited, but scared. I was freaking out earlier and panicking and I emailed my surgeon and probably sounded like a lunatic but between his reassurance and this site, I'm feeling a lot better.
  13. Thanks guys! I've been making better, healthier choices for the past year or so and didn't even start the surgery process until 6 months ago so I'm excited for the sleeve to help me keep making those choices. I'm worried about keeping up with exercising! I've been overweight my whole life so exercise was always something I dreaded because it just wasn't easy for me. Here's hoping I find some exercise that I love!
  14. Yeah I've found that I'm way more thirsty since I started the pre op diet but that just makes it easier for me to get used to drinking so much water. I bought a 32 oz bottle so when I go back to work, I just need to remember to drink two of them a day!
  15. I'm getting sleeved this Tuesday, 5/26 and I'm incredibly nervous! I keep freaking out and panicking but I have to keep reminding myself why I'm doing it. This site is definitely helping. I didn't have any food funerals, which sometimes makes me sad, because I didn't think of even doing that, but I'm okay. I love to cook so I'm really excited for a new relationship with food. I'm nervous about having surgery in general and making a gigantic decision when I'm just 23 years old but I'm excited for the journey.
  16. I'm having the same problem! I probably looked like a crazy person at work running to the bathroom every ten minutes! I think it's supposed to get better - your body will adjust to the amount you're now drinking.
  17. Hi everyone! I'll be sleeved on Tuesday, 5/26 and I'm sure this has been posted before, but I'd love to hear your best pieces of advice or things you wish people had told you when you got the surgery. Any resources you use that you swear by (books, websites, apps, etc)? My surgeon's office is amazing and supportive but I want to hear what works from people who have actually had it too! =)
  18. Thanks! How long have you had the sleeve? How's your social life doing now? I've been super stressed about how that will all change too...
  19. I honestly can't believe I haven't cheated. I guess I'm too anxious about the surgery to do it! I've also basically been a shut-in for the last week while I'm doing liquids. It helps to not be around food. My 10 day liquid diet became a 9 day diet thought because it was supposed to start on my birthday and my surgeon said I could start the day after. =)
  20. I'm May 26th! Any other Massachusetts sleevers? I've got some nerves about just having surgery in general but I'm excited! Also, anybody under 24 or so getting the sleeve soon? It's weird for me to be getting it at 23 when I haven't met anyone else as young who is!
  21. I'm May 26th and don't have to be there until noon. I'm very nervous, but excited. My anxiety is going crazy though. The shakes aren't too bad but I've had a cold this week and couldn't smell all the delicious food my family has been eating! I'm so shocked that I don't miss Diet Coke. I've loved diet coke forever but I haven't found myself missing it at all during the liquid diet.
  22. I'm going into this single and probably going to be single for a while while I go through this! But it's more important to me. Three days till my surgery.
  23. Thank you cj and judy! =) I'm so nervous and getting more anxious as it gets closer but I'm excited.
  24. Congrats! That's great. =) I'm so nervous because I had to get cleared by a cardiologist for chest pain I was having. They said I was all set but it still makes me nervous! I'm also very scared of leaks!
  25. Good luck! It's rough at the beginning but it gets easier. Just think of the end result!
