    Vitamins.

I've been drinking my vitamins for the past five years and it has been great after getting sleeved on 5/18/15. I use a brand called Isotonix sold online. They come in powder and you mix with water and take it on an empty stomach. They absorb very well (about 95%) instead of passing them later on when you go to the bathroom, pharmaceutical strength and very clean. My Surgeon and Nut approved. I take a Multi with iron, Vitamin C, Activated B Complex, Calcium with D and OPC-3 a anti inflammatory and antioxidant. I mix it all together with water and have a nice vitamin cocktail every morning. I, like many of you have a had a difficult time swallowing pills, (I have two scripts I still take, for now) and one of them is cut in half. Hope this helps

    2 weeks post missing food

You are not alone, believe me! I had my surgery on 5/18 so this is my third week. I've been craving solid food too! It does get better. I never thought starting on pureed food this week would be so good! For example, I never really liked fat free refried Beans before but now it's the most amazing thing and it has really helped me with missing solid food, like chicken etc...Hang in there, it will get better The thing that really helped me was keeping busy, so I wasn't focused so much but that was challenging at times being off of work. Let's just say, I watched a lot of TV and movies! I won't lie though, I still had some "food" dreams but they have pretty much subsided. Hope this helps.

    May sleevers

Hi, I had my surgery on 5/18 and I'm doing pretty good. I started purée foods yesterday and its a bit better. I've lost 12ibs since my surgery and that's encouraging. I had my post op today and they said all looked good. I'm just kind of over the liquids. I also had a 2 week pre op diet of liquids. Just trying to get my protein and water in. I've also been feeling hungry, I guess? Going to try an anacid like Pepcid, like a lot of people have been suggesting. I tried tums but that didn't do a thing.

    May 2015 Sleevers?

I just got sleeved on May 18th! Yay!
  5. I just had my surgery on 5/18 and I didn't tell many of my friends, co-workers, especially on social media. I did share it with my close family members, friends and husband. He did tell a few of our friends which I wasn't happy about at first but they ended up being supportive. I feel like you guys, where people will watch if I keep it off and also there will be those that judge me by thinking I took the "easy" way out and I'm not ready to deal with that negativity. It is hard to tell your boss and co-workers you had surgery but not what for. I thought of saying "stomach surgery" or "abdomen surgery" but what's the point? That will lead to more questions and I don't want to lie. I agree with you guys, it's nobody's business and it's a personal choice if we tell or not.

    Insomnia?

I'm 6 days post op and have noticed some problems with insomnia. I wondered if it's because I'm hungry but can't actually feel Hungry if that makes any sense. Lol
  7. Thank you for sharing your story Kendra! It helps a lot as I have my WLS on 5/18 and then my husband will as well in August. I've heard so much about the divorce rate and how it can affect my marraige. Reading your article, really helped me put things in perspective. You are very inspiring!

    Pre-op diet is a b***h

You are a-okay! Mine is in a week and I've cheated 3 times during these Protein shakes! Just make sure if you're going to cheat off it, choose HEALTHY options! You're doing just fine! Don't kick yourself when you're so close! Don't feel bad, I have seen that many have cheated and I admit I have also (have still lost about 6 lbs. which is a bonus I say!), trying with healthy options but not always...forgive yourself and move on, don't beat yourself up over it...look how long we have all lived with food issues..a 2 week diet really won't change that, this whole thing is a process...plus we wouldn;t be having surgery if we could do it all on our own (at least for me..I have horrible will power! lol) This surgery, for me, is a tool to help with my journey to healthy...getting sick and such is a GREAT deterrent for me...so there is that. I say, if you cheat...forgive yourself, forget it and try (important word) to do better Good Luck all around!! My surgery is this coming Wed and I have been researching bariatric surgery for over 15 years, so this is a long time coming for me (really long story) and I am so excited...but getting a little nervous...I have OCD so I have already packed, have lists everywhere! lol Ok, done preaching! LOL Good Luck and Blessings All! Thank you for sharing! You totally hit it spot on for me. I am also on Pre-Op, my sugery is 5/18 and today has been a REAL struggle! I really felt my food addiction trying me. I've been feeling like, if I cheat, I'm doomed and won't be able to have my surgery next Monday. Ugh - the struggle is real and I'm so grateful for everyone honesty and openess here. Makes me realize that I'm not alone with what I'm going through.
