  1. I agree with what your saying but I did not stress about it because I live so close to Mexico (2 1/2 to 3 hour drive). So it's not that big of a deal to me to make the drive if I couldn't find anyone closer. However, for someone that is not that close then it would be good to find the doctor in advance.
  2. Does anyone know if a good doctor that will do a fill in the San Antonio area? I had my surgery in Mexico and I can go back but figured it would be much easier just to find a doctor locally.
  3. I went with Dr. Rodriguez for my band. I was banded on 1/18/08. I was very impressed with him and I had a great experience. I have not had any luck finding any local doctors (in my area) but I'm only 3 hours away from Mexico so I might just have to make the drive. Dr. Rodriguez has a yahoo group that has a list of doctors that will do a fill in the US. You might want to check it out.
  4. The only thing that releives my pain is laying down, too. But I have been doing great until yesterday. Let me know what your doc says. Good Luck.
  5. I was banded on 1/18/08 and so far have been feeling pretty well. I have followed my liquid diet and have not cheated at all. However, since yesterday, after I eat (drink my liquid) I get this bad pain in my abdoman. The only way I can describe it is if there is a belt around my upper abdoman and it's squeezing..getting tighter and tighter. Eventually it will go away but it's effecting my work. If I eat at noon then by 1:00 I will be in pain and have to come home. Anyone else feel this way? I'm starting to get worried.
  6. Alldunn33, I was banded on 1/18/08 and I totally understand where you are coming from except I am adding
  7. My pre-op diet i did cheat some but my doctor only had me on low carb. I'm not cheating on my post op. I'm too scared my band will slip. My doctor scared the sh** out of me about what will happen if I cheat.
  8. I was banded on the 18th (last Friday!) I will be on liquids for 2 weeks and my doctor said I had to have 20-30 grams of protien (which keeps you full to the next meal) and no more then 6 carb and 6 sat fat per meal which left out oatmeal and cream soups. I'm getting by on fruit smoothies with protien powder added, Vanilla Cream Slim Fast with a banana blended in is good too and broths with protien powder. So far it's been great. I am not hungry at all and have to remind myself to eat. I'm still very sore. Good Luck to all.
  9. My doctor recommended Iso Pure. I ordered the drinks on 1/2/08 from A1 Nutrition and called them today and they still have not shipped it. I got frustrated and cancelled my order. How does it taste? I was thinking of ordering from someone else once they refund me my 45 bucks. I also found Unjury which is awsome. They have chocolate, strawberry, chicken soup and unflavored mix that you can add to whatever. It's really good. And it has just the right amount of protien.
  10. I was just banded on Friday but am dealing with the head hunger too. Every time I walk into the kitchen I my instinct is to eat. I am doing things without even knowing it. My daughter had a bite of a ham sandwich left my intentions were to throw it away but without thinking I almost finished it off, which is something I do all the time. My mom was there and stopped me. This head hunger is a struggle but my doctor told me so many scary stories about the band slipping if you don't eat right during the healing faze that I am terrified this will happen to me. As for the tummy "growling" my doctor said it's normal and not a sign that your hungry like most believe so I just tell myself over and over "I'm not hungry"....
  11. White06, I'm not a psychiatrist but maybey you should talk to one before you lose your band. It sounds like your dealing with an eating disorder or head hunger or maybe your band slipped? Did you do the proper liquid diet during the healing phase. If your band slipped then you won't even know it until about 12 months later which is about as long as you have had it. I wish the best for you. I was banded on Friday so I have a long way to go. Good Luck.

I work for child protective services and this is the way we see it...you can spank...as long as it's not on a vital part of the body and you can't leave a mark that last for more then 24 hours. Anything beyond that is considered child abuse. Personally I do spank but rarely. It depends on the situation. My daughter is a very good child and has never needed a spanking but my sometimes it's the only thing my son will respond to.
  13. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SURGERY RACETRACKWEARY. GLAD EVERYTHING WENT WELL. KEEP ME UPDATED ON YOUR PROGRESS. SHANARENE-CONGRATS ON YOUR UPCOMING SURGERY. HOPE ALL GOES WELL. KEEP IN TOUCH. SWEETY Sweety, just wondering how everything is going for you since your surgery. I'm having mine next Friday so just wondering what to expect from someone who just recently had theirs. Are you on a liquid diet? Did you take time off work? I'm not sure how long I will be out. I asked for the whole week but was wondering if I would feel better and go back sooner. Sorry for all the questions. Just getting ready and am really excited.
  14. Thanks Sweety, I am having my surgery in Mexico with Dr. Rodriguez on 1/18/08 :whoo:
