Hello, my name is Dawn. I have struggled with weight loss my entire life. I weighed in at 245 on April 24, 2015 which was my date of surgery. I am currently two weeks post op and have only lost 2-3 lbs. My blood pressure is very high and I'm retaining water, so today I have an appointment with my primary care physician to find a new blood pressure pill that helps with fluid retention. I am hoping this will help me out with the weight loss by getting rid of the fluid hanging out in my ankles and legs. I do feel energetic and I have managed to get my 64oz of fluid in daily. Today will be a bit more difficult as I'm feeling quite nauseous. Vitamins have always made me sick, so I think that may be what is causing the nausea.
I was searching the web for gastric bypass forums and found Bariatric Pal with hopes to find a good support group with great topics. I have always been a food addict and with heart disease in my family, I knew it was time to make the decision. I have heard so many positive stories as well as horror stories, and I just pray that this goes smoothly for me. I follow the directions completely and do as I'm told.
I was hoping to see a bit more weight loss, but I'm sure that will come in time. I am really excited for what lies ahead. I've already planned out very healthy meals for when I can start eating foods. Things like Hummus, Tabouli, flatbread, Kale, quinoa, lots of veggies and fruit. I'm really excited about what the new me will look like.
I want to wish everyone much success in their new journey and even though we have bad days, we have to look and focus on what the end result will be.
