  1. My dr. suggests 7 days liquid only, 8 days mushies. However, I was starving and 'ready' after day 5 and everything was great. I just ate very very soupy plain mashed potatos for 2-3 days and I have no regrets!
  2. I eat anything I want. I had macaroni and cheese for lunch!
  3. 3-7 days. That was by far the worst part of the entire situation. Hated that! I still cannot have caffeine, even 8 days post-op (it has been 22 days without any coffee!). I walked by Starbucks today in my grocery store and almost had a fit! Ha!
  4. Kim, you are TOO funny! I hate that dreaded mill too! Ha!
  5. Im sorry you are bummed. I know it isn't the 'best' way to you, but after I was denied, I decided to go self-pay. I was able to go on a payment plan with very low interest. It is like purchasing a car. I know, its a lot of monthly money. I actually had to get a second job. But, its my health. Its my life, and my future! Best investment of my money in my opinion! Look into it!
  6. I bought Wolfgang Puck's Chicken Noodle soup drained. It was very rich and yummy, with lots of flavor.
  7. Are you sleeping on your back? My throat was so dry and really hurting, until I realized that I was sleeping on my back because my port site was so sore that I couldn't sleep on my side as usual. Normally, sleeping on your stomach promotes snoring, which is sleeping with your mouth open, promoting drying and a sore throat. I don't know, just a thought.
  8. Hm...Im not really sure about the slim fast thing...I drank Adkins shakes up until today! When do you go off liquids? How are you feeling?
  9. I mourn with you. Pizza was one of my hardest to give up! Good luck to you!
  10. I love food...any food...all food...! Its my passion and it taste great! No underlying thing, just love to eat!
  11. Oh ok, so your insurance company wants you to put it in yourself? Great idea. I would investigate more into that. I hate insurance!
  12. I was on liquids only for 14 days prior to surgery. It sucked big time. Im jealous of all of you!
  13. I was very sore right after surgery. Pain is more like it. However, I just found out yesterday that because of my codene allergy, I was perscriped a lesser medication . I was incredibly tired also. My surgery was at 8:30 and only lasted 3o minutes. I left at 7:30pm that evening.
  14. Hi Candy- Thanks for the welcome! No fill yet. I am 6 days post-op. I go to mushies tomorrow for a week then solids. I am really excited because I was on liquids for 20 days now and im ready to chew! Ha! Your loss is great!
  15. I didnt have to lose anything before surgery. However, I was on a liquid only diet for 14 days prior, so I did loose 16 lbs. during that.
  16. Hello Everyone! I am so excited to find this thread! I have been on the boards for a couple of weeks, but just discovered this one today. I started liquid only diet on 12/14 and was banded on 12/28. I need support! I know that God led me to do this, I have total peace about it. I am trusting him to help me eat only good things and giving my body daily to Him for the rest of my life.
  17. 'BBQ' chicken This is so stinkin easy and DELICIOUS! You will love it! 12 ounces of Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts, Whole or cut into pieces 1 Can Diet Coke 1 C. Ketchup Layer all ingredients into your crock pot. Simmer for four hours. When chicken is cooked, shread it into pieces. It tastes just like BBQ Chicken! My favorite food ever!
  18. That sounds really good. I love bisque!
  19. I went to Dr. Debarros in Tempe. 3 year support system. Yea, I paid more, but it is worth it to have a doctor on call 24 hours if anything happens.
  20. Congrats! I totally understand about the supportive-ness. I had my pre-op diet which started on 12/14 and surgery on 12/28. Since then, I have lost 19 lbs, and people are noticing. I tell people I am on a 1000 calorie a day diet. Its true-and works! Good luck to you! Tracey
  21. Ok, I am 5 days post-op. Seriously, this is the first day I have felt like 'myself.' My suggestion-have someone to stya with you for at least the first 3 days-they are so rough.
  22. Congrats! I am 5 days post-op and I will be honest: this is the first day that I dont feel like punching anyone in sight! I am young, and really thought I would bounce right back in a day or two, but it really took me until day 5 to 'feel great.' Follow the dr. orders and baby yourself! Get someone to help you around the house and drive you around, etc. for the first four days. That helped tremendously! Tracey
  23. Hi Justin- Im 27, and probably one of the happiest people you will ever meet-I have wonderful friends, wonderful job that I love, a great family, a house, everything I would want! I didn't do the surgery just to loose weight-I did it to help me to learn how to eat properly and love my body and treat it better. I know that some of the weight will come off just by 'eating less' but some will have to be worked myself, and I am ready. Think hard about it-you are the only one who can make the decision for you-Tracey
  24. I had a lot more pain for this than I did for gall bladder four years ago. It really hurt where my stitches were. I didn't expect the insane amount of bloating, puffiness and gas. I would give my pain a 7.
  25. I told very few people. I didnt want it a big issue. My mom and brother know because I went home to stay with them after the surgery-they have been so sweet. My grandma knows because she helped me with my loan for cash pay. I have 4 friends who know, who have been crazy supportive, and my boss. I like it this way. Tracey
