  1. Easiest BBQ chicken Ever! 4 Chicken Breasts (Cooked) 1 C. Ketchup 1 Can Diet Coke Shred chicken and allow to cook on low for 2-3 hours together. Tastes like BBQ Chicken. SO yummy!
  2. Im down 100 eaclty as of weighting yesterday. I cried. This is a huge victory for me. Thank you so much!
  3. Hi BayCity, I add chicken usually. I love chicken! Im not really a huge beef lover. As much as I was addicted to Pasta before, but now I usually eat more of the chicken/veggies because I crave it more! Your cravings will stop! Tracey
  4. Welcome! Im also a patient of Dr. DeBarros. I was self-pay. SE Elaine-I didn't know you were also!
  5. Im sorry Mom...you might be part of your daughters problem! If she is 5'7, there is NO WAY she is 170 lbs overweight. You expect her to be 110 lbs? She should weight about 145 lbs, which is 125 lbs overweight, heavy, but NOT 110 lbs. Please love and support her. I hope she doesnt know your on the website telling strangers about her. I feel bad for your daughter. Good luck to her, and I really hope your more supportive than you sound. PS-No doctor will give the surgery to a 16 year old, except in Mexico.
  6. I was banded 5 months ago today. I recently had a fill, and it was overfilled, so I am not eating as much as usual. Breakfast: Cup of coffee and Glass of Water (I dont like eating in the am) Snack: 5 pretzels Lunch: 1/2 of a Weight Watchers Frozen dinner (Most common example) Thai chicken with Noodles and Carrots 145 Calories Snacks Remainder of the Weight Watchers Dinner Dinner 1/2 C. Refried Beans with Salsa and cheese 5 Tortilla chips Snack: 1/2 C. Popcorn
  7. Almost everywhere, I order a side dish or soup. You cant go wrong with soups! The only time im sad is at resturants, because I use to LOVE to eat so much! If im out, I check the Soups, and get a cup, or eat the chips and salsa, which is always good. Sometimes they will have a side of fresh veggies, which is great, or a potato, baked or mashed.
  8. I was banded 5 months ago tomorrow. I was absoutely addicted to food before the surgery. I am almost never hungry. I never think about food anymore...its a necessity now. I eat 4-5 small meals a day (like 1/8 cup each meal.) Good luck!
  9. I have been banded for 5 months tomorrow and I ADORE pasta and eat it all the time. I usually eat 1/8 of a cup (not much, I know, but your seriously full). I add my protein to it. I cnanot live wihtout my pastas!
  10. Im not really following a plan either. My problem (pre-band) was my carbs. I eat almost no carbs, and it has proven very successful. Now, im trying to go off sugar completely, which is challenging. I keep it between 800-1000 calories a day. I always drink water, trying to stay away from the 'empty calories' in beverages. The no carbs has helped me so much.
  11. Great question. I used to LOVE going out to eat, now I hate it! I am really cheap, so I find it a huge waste to order something I know I cannot eat. When at a fast food resturant, I almost always order from the kids menu. Maybe a grilled cheese sandwich at Sonic, a cup of chili at Wendy's or a single taco at Taco Bell. For a proper resturant, I get chips and salsa, a cup or Soup, side order of mashed potatoes, or something from the appetizer menu. I usually always do soup, as it is the easiest to get down. I gotta say-you do save money on food in the long run! Ha!
  12. I was required to do a week of liquids only, then a week of mushies, then was able to 'eat normally' on week three. I ate a lot of mashed potatoes and gravy, and even like oatmeal, which was super filling. Good luck to you!
  13. Hello! Fantastic idea! I rescused both of my dogs (a 4 1/2 year old Lab/Huskie mix and a Cocker Spaniel) from Petfinders.org. I love them both! I really contribute my exercising to them, as they really love walks. I think the dog choice for you would depend on your home and lifestyle. Do you have a big backyard? Look into a boxer. They are gentle, but enjoy exercising, and loves people. Just a heads up! Tracey
  14. I have had 2. The first one lasted 3 1/2 hours (YEA) because my doctor was backed up. This last one was 45 minutes. EVerytime you go for the fill where I go you also have to see the dietetican and the physcologist as well. Ask other patients to see how long your dr. takes. Tracey
  15. im four weeks post tomorrow and im horribly gassy. i thought it was just part of the package.
  16. The Akins shakes are my favorites! The Mocha is super good.
  17. Went from a C to barely a B, and I have only lost 30 lbs. I hate it! When I get down to my goal and get my nips and tucks, I am buying myself a "Lucy" and an "Ethel". I deserve it, right? Ha!
  18. I think you are fine. Its mostly Fluid. I lost 32 in 3 weeks.
  19. I had a 400 question 'test' before I had my appointment. The questions were SO stupid, 'Do you currently see an elephant in this room....' WHAT? I had to laugh. I had a 30 minute meeting with the pysch. doctor. It went well-she just did like family history, medical history, etc. She asked me how I dealt with stress, I told her I prayed. She asked me how many times I had ever thrown up after eating...I told her once, and it really pissed me off becuase it was my favorite kind of pizza, and it was like $18 for the medium (which I ate). She laughed....we had a great time. On my way out, I told her that I thought I saw a huge elephant behind her. I was a cash patient-I think they would have just approved me for the moola. Ha! Jk.
  20. Mine is to the left of my belly button, about 3 inches over. It is still pretty sore.
  21. I buy X-Power Chocolate. It is AMAZING. I refused to drive any protein shakes because I think they taste HORRIBLE. MY friend introduced me to this and I absoutely love it! It was $44.88 including shipping, but it is HUGE. It is good for like 5 years. I use 1 scoop, 4 ounces of skim milk, 1/2 T. of peanut butter and milk-150 calories, 11 grams of protein=ONlY 1/2 C.
  22. 5 people, including myself. Powerpoint presentation, lots of information, both pros and cons. My surgeon is also a lap band patient, so a lot of it was his personal experience, which was super cool. I liked it-thought it was informative, and helped me decide I wanted to go through with it.
  23. YOu wont be able to drink it all. I go to Tropical Smoothie and get the Protein power shakes. They put them into 2 cups for me. Drinking it all morning, and lunch, I am only able to drink 1/2 of the small cups-that is 2-3 meals. It is SO filling. One smoothie lasts me 4 days.
  24. Ok, so I am 9 days post-op and constantly tired, like laying around and even sleeping 10 hours a day...which is totally abnormal for me. I realize that it is from the lack of protein. I am trying to eat it, but I simply cannot consume so much in a day. All I can eat is 4-5 times a day, and like 1-2 ounces at a time. Yesterday, I bought the Gordan's Frozen Fish Fillet's, but all I could eat was 3/4 and that is the entire day. That is 17 g. of protein. I HATE SHAKES...HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE. Any other suggestions? Thanks-Tracey
  25. I eat them. Im only 8 days post op. I can only eat about a 1/3 at a time. The much better choice is the frozen fish fillets in the yellow box (cannot remember the name). They are delicious and 17 g. of protein each. Yummy!
