@@busybee3 Hey, you're the closest one to me that I have ever seen in the forums. I'm from Conway and I'm a nurse at the hosp in Ahoskie. Where did you have your surgery? I will have mine in Oct at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

@@Laughingmyassoff2015 congratulations on the approval!!!! My info was submitted to insurance yesterday. Estimated surgery date Oct 23rd. Looks like I'll be a late Oct bloomer =)

@@edie091371, That is so true it seems, people can't wait to get to my office or call me to theirs to tell me the latest WLS horror story. It really gets my goat that I work with a bunch of what CLAIM to be medical professionals and yet practice such unprofessional tactics. Myself, like you have decided the only way I was going to be able to go forward with this was to focus on the good that will come out of this surgery. I constantly have DOCTORS stopping by my desk to tell me it's not too late to cancel until they put me under. Why do they care, I ask?? This is my decision and it's not like there aren't a dozen nurses out there waiting and wanting my job so their life will go on regardless of what happens to mine. It is very frustrating ESPECIALLY when their opinions are not asked for. That's why I come to this site to focus on one's like myself, because in reality we are the ONLY ones that understand what a big deal this is. We are the only ones that realize this is not the easy way out but a courageous decision to do for ourself what so many take for granted. I am so excited to finally be a part of the official October surgery thread. Can't believe after this long road I finally am a part of MY MONTH!! Congratulations to all of us and wishing us the best going forward!

My surgery will be in October, though I haven't gotten a specific date yet. My anesthesiologist appointment is Tuesday. Getting really nervous.

Thanks, I couldn't be certain I could save the money any other way and I would certainly never ask her for it back so I pay myself an allowance in advance. I ride by the boutique several times a day looking at the beautiful outfits in the window and it's awesome to think I might be wearing one of them next year!!!

We have a boutique right up the rd from my house. She carries the cutest clothes and accessories you have ever seen and she is one of the sweetest souls you have ever met. So when I decided to have the surgery, I went into the boutique one day and asked her if I could.just start a running tab. She looked puzzled so I went on to tell her I didn't want to go into details but there would be some changes in my life soon and when I felt like I was ready I wanted to have a day to just come into her boutique and be able to try on and buy clothes all day. She looked so sinserely happy for me and said absolutely! So ever since that day I have stopped in there periodically and given her 25-50 dollars to just "hold". I can't wait to have my day at the boutique!!

I can only imagine the nerves once you know your surgery date. I don't even know mine yet and already a bundle of them. I try to concentrate on the other side and it helps some. Hi, I'm pre op also with RNY sometime in Sept. My last weigh in is Aug 31st. Would love to have friends to lean on and to cheer as others move forward.

Oh my goodness, I have finally found someone that said everything I am feeling. I'm so glad to know I'm not alone in feeling this way. My surgery is not until Sept and I can have an axiety attack just thinking about it. Thanks for sharing the way you are feeling, it validates we ARE normal.
