  1. Notforthefaint, sorry your boyfriend is not being supportive, I guess keep trying to get him to understand how important this is to you. Tell him it will improve you sex life maybe that will bring him around. LOL! I know my husband was unsure at first but once he understood how bad I wanted to do this. Also the improvement for my health. He told me he would support me 100%. Thank my lucky stars for this man everyday.
  2. Glad to see a couple Floridians, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Born and Bred!????????
  3. I'm so glad I found this post. My husband asked about time restrictions on sex, this will be my fourth surgery...2 c-section, hysterectomy and now the VSG. Needless to say we never waited until the time the doctor told us to wait. We have been together for 26 years and sex has never been a problem. He has stayed with me thru thin (teen years) and thick (adult years). I am hoping with the weight loss the sex becomes out of this world. I am looking forward to exploring the Kama Sutra book, LOL! ????.
  4. I am hoping for August. I have one more nutritional visit on July 10th. MD office said they will submit that day to insurance.
  5. He was recommended by my primary MD, she sId he had a very low complications rate for surgeries and the RN in her office used them for her band surgery last year.
  6. I am actually going to the Oband center in Hollywood. My surgeon will be Paul Wizman.
  7. Hello Notforthefaint, I am in Davie out west near Weston. I am hoping I will get my surgery date in early August. I have my sleep study on Fri 6/26 then one more visit for Nutrition and my endoscopy in July. Hopefully, I get a fast response on the approval from insurance.
  8. After my C-sections and hysterectomy, I used to sit in my rocking chair. LOL. I know it sounds old lady-ish but it really works in helping the gas move around and escape your body.
  9. Just wondering if there are any South Florida Sleevers out there. I am in West Davie out near Weston. Looking for a support buddy.
  10. Hello Flipper, I should be sometime in August. I still have my last nutritional visit on 7/10 then submit to insurance for approval, the office said maybe 2 weeks for approval. Then 2 more weeks for pre-op tests like Labs and chest x-Ray. I have the Endoscopy on 7/17. So I am anxiously awaiting to find out the big day.
  11. Hello, I am pre-op heading towards the finish line with the requirements from the insurance. A few more appointments to go. Looking to maybe early to mid-August for surgery. I have been trying protein shakes like crazy, mostly RTDs and a few powders. I have tried these so far.... Muscle Milk - Vanilla, I liked and it wasn't to thick and no strange after taste. Sorry not really a chocolate person. Core Power-Vanilla. Like it as well. Herbal Life Vanilla Protein Powder - purchased from. A friend at work. Good protein and low sugar content. Mainly only mixed with water which isn't too bad. Today, my co- worker brought in the meal replacement powder flavor Cookie and Creme and I mixed it with Vanilla protein powder and water along with ice cubes and it was good. I purchased some from GNC this weekend -strawberry and Vanilla and will give update on how those tasted. Also purchased some Lean 25 RTDs from GNC in all four favors - Chocolate, Strawberry, Banana Creme and Vanilla of course. I have been making the kids try them with me...they seem to be OK with some of them. They like it when I add Almond Milk or Plain Greek Yogurt and frozen/fresh fruit for a more smoothie type drink. Depends on time in the mornings what they get. LOL! Mama has to get to work.
  12. I have to stay the night at the Oband Center here and I am not used to sleeping alone. Let alone in a strange place. I think what gets me freaked the most is that someone is monitoring me the whole night and hopefully I do not have to have something on my face. I'm a heavy sleeper and snore sometimes according to the hubby. I hope I will sleep. I usually fall asleep reading...other occupant in my bed is my Kindle. I wake up with it under my body most times.
  13. Hello everyone! I think.I will be sometime in August as well. I have had 2 NUT visits, physc eval, stress test, ultrasound so far. Sleep study set for 6/26, last NUT visit on 7/10, and Endoscopy for 7/17. I'm excited and nervous but I think the sleep study has me the most freaked out. Lol! Anyone in Fort Lauderdale,FL area. Could use a buddy.
