  1. I had my long awaited surgery on Thursday. I am still in the hospital 2 days later and I want so badly to go home. Uhhh! My surgery went well except I lost more blood than expected during the surgery. My surgeon told me that when they moved my spleen out of the way, the capsule that covers it is very fragile so it started to bleed. I didn't need a blood transfusion, thank God because they stopped the blood in time. Other than that, I feel great. I'm walking, feeling no pain, just minor discomfort. My appetite is non existent. They have given me a breakfast, lunch and dinner of chicken broth, jello, decaf tea, crystal light and water. After a few sips of b each, I'm done. This has been an okay experience so fast but I don't think I realized the magnitude of the decision I made. I'm so very thankful to the stories I have read on this app. It really helped me too know just what to expect.
  2. Agreed! Chapstick is a must. My poor lips are so chapped, I had to ask for vaseline. Maybe deodorant too.
  3. Amen! You just dispatched God's angels! That prayer was what I needed! I'm ready!
  4. Nope that doesn't offend me at all! It made me smile actually. Thank you for the encouraging words. I'm a ball of nerves right now!
  5. I want to get in on this since my surgery is in 3 hours. My starting weight is 352.6
  6. I'm getting sleeved in a couple hours! Wow! Can't believe it's finally here guys!
  7. Hi everyone. I'm having a sleeve done in a couple hours. I need to be at the hospital by 6:30 am to have my sleeve. I'm super nervous. I have been reading all the stories on this app and it's not helping my nerves. I know what to expect but that doesn't mean it will be my reality because in actuality everybody is different. I'm just relying on God to make sure that everything from my surgery to recovery goes better than expected!
  8. Wow! Everyone's starting weight is so much lower than mine. Yikes! Even in here, I'm the biggest person in the room.
  9. I would love to be sleeve buddies. I'm down for the shopping. I can't wait to need all new clothes. My email is jennafah.m@gmail.com
  10. I actually enjoyed my psych eval. He only asked general question and once he realized that I was normal, he ended the session but I wanted it to continue because his voice was so soothing. Lol!
  11. I'm in Broward too. I'm doing mine at the Cleveland Clinic.
  12. Amen Angelzkiss-vsg. I second that and will repeat that prayer everyday until my surgery and afterward.
  13. I had no clue so thanks for telling me. How did you expel it? I meet with him on April 21st so maybe he'll explain it then.
  14. Wait, the Dr. Fills up your belly with gas? I haven't heard this at all? Why do they do that?
  15. Thank you for sharing this. I never thought of this aspect of wls. I don't think he needs to know right now, at least not until ya'll get really serious anyway. Just reassure him that you're ok with him as he is. If he needs more reassurance than that, direct him to a therapist.
  16. I'm 39 about to be 40 years old. I thought I could lose the weight on my own because I lost like 50 lbs like 5 years ago. I was about 300 lbs then. Then I met this guy and he moved into my home and messed up my life. I guess I was depressed or whatever. I gained the weight back and ballooned up to 371( I have never told anyone my weight before). A couple months ago I went to my Dr. And found out that I was diabetic. That was my breaking point. I realized that not only do I not want to be fat but I want to be healthy and alive. I called the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida and made an appointment and went through the pre approval process and got approved. Now here I am and my surgery us scheduled for April 30th.
  17. I'm curious. If we are all having the same surgery, why do some Dr's prescribe all liquid diets whole others say fish and vegetables? I hate fish but I would kill to eat something solid right now!
  18. I'm scheduled April 30th.
  19. I can't wait to be done with it either. I'm watching my 600 lb life and it's a little scary.
  20. I didn't realize hair loss would be a problem. Eek!
  21. Glad you went through with it after all.
  22. My surgery is scheduled on April 30th and I'm excited and scared at the same time.
