  1. My surgery was the 27th,went home on the 29th and I feel great. No pain. Just a little sore now and then. The only issue I'm having is getting all the fluids in. My doc wants a minimum of 48oz/day but would prefer 64. I got in 32 yesterday. Not great but hey it's a start.
  2. I'm 4 days post op and I actually feel really good. I'm not really tired during the day although sometimes I take a 30 min to an hr nap mid afternoon. So far so good!
  3. So I'm 4 days post op now and sleeping on my back is getting really annoying... How long after surgery were you able to sleep on your side without much discomfort?
  4. I'm doing pretty well today so far. I've been up and moving quite a bit and not really tired today. I'm just taking it one day at a time. I also have an 18 month old so he doesn't give me much down time!
  5. So it's been a rough few days. My surgeon doesn't believe in narcotics so I got liquid Tylenol thru my IV and that was it so I'm super tired, sore, and annoyed with my doc but I'm recovering. Hunkered down on my big comfy couch. Praying this gets easier ad the days go on.
  6. How are you doing, and welcome to the other side, those thinking of surgery and those now on the losers bench ????Thanks @nancynew. I'm doing ok. My surgeon doesn't believe in pain meds except for IV Tylenol and needless to say that wasn't cutting it after surgery so I was in a lot of pain. I stayed an extra day because I wasn't about to go home and be told to suck it up with Tylenol. So I'm home now with just Tylenol. It's been a rough start but I hope things get better from here on out.
  7. Just finished meeting with the surgeon so headed back in a min. Ugh, nervous! See everyone on the losers bench!
  8. Well today is my day! I'm sitting in the Pre-op area in my gown waiting to get my IV. Surgery is scheduled for noon! Ah!
  9. Mine too! Right there with ya!
  10. Luckily mine is only for 3 days but I have the headache from hell.
  11. Surgery is this Wednesday. Started my clear liquid diet today and it sucks. Oh well. Surgery will be worth it right?
  12. My surgery is on Wednesday so I started my clear liquid diet today and let me just say... This sucks! That is all. Lol.
  13. Hello! I'm having surgery on the 27th so I can't really say!
  14. My surgery is also two weeks from today and I just feel... Blah about it all. I scheduled my surgery at the beginning of April. I'm hoping I'll get more excited as it gets closer?
  15. Sigh of relief! Praying this good luck continues!
  16. OMG! YES! Finally some GOOD news for you both! Really praying this recovery continues!
  17. Well I'm not really scared persay. I'm more anxious to get it over with. Once my pain finally got under control after gallbladder surgery and I could get up and walk I was pretty good but I had pancreatitis beforehand because of a gallstone getting loose and blocking my pancreas so I ended up going home with oxycodone. But this surgeon believes I won't need any pain medication once surgery is done so I'm skeptical. I guess I'm just going to have to wait and see what I feel like. But I would rather know ahead of time than wake up and be surprised. So I'll just have to start preparing myself.
  18. Hi Tiana, please don't listen to the above post. No one knows your situation except you! It's rude for people to try and tell you to do this on your own if you're seriously looking at surgery. I would recommend you wait to try and lose weight until after you see your surgeon and go from there.
  19. Joy! He really convinced me that the pain wouldn't be nearly as bad hut I guess I just need to start preparing myself to feel as crappy as I did when I woke up from gallbladder surgery. Ugh.
  20. Man you guys are scaring me! I had my gallbladder out about a year and a half ago and I was told the pain from this surgery would be nothing like that.... He actually told me it would just feel like sore abs when I wake up and if I have to have more than Tylenol to Control my pain he won't send me home. It's supposed to be just an overnight stay.
  21. Wow! SO happy for whatever reason the TPN worked! I pray this recovery continues!
  22. Omg! 4 weeks is ridiculous! Good luck!
  23. I've been on my Pre-op diet for a little over 2 weeks. I have an 18 month old and husband so cooking is different but so far so good. My liquid diet doesn't start until 3 days before surgery for me.
  24. Yay! I still have 24 days to go. Eh, I don't think it's really hit me yet...
