Ugh I was doing so good.. :-(
So, I go for my first fill today. Right now I am feeling so discouraged, like the same hell I go thru with failing diets over & over :-/ the last couple weeks during the pureed stage has been a mess for me, as I said as soon as I realized I could eat anything...I did. Then I tried to get back on track over the last couple days, but I ended up bingeing last night when I had done good all day! I even walked miles at the zoo yesterday so I got some good exercise in, then after getting hungry I sat there and ate..and ate..and ate :-( after that I was in pain for a few hours after..I obviously really overdid it. So, I am really hoping a fill works but when I see that it took others several fills before having restriction it just discourages me more. I have been eating fast, drinking at the same time, etc. Everything I am not supposed to do :-/ I had lost 20 pounds, but it is coming back on with my bad habits starting again. I really wanted some good progress this summer, at least by the end of summer..I really hope I can still do that somehow. Any advice or encouragement is appreciated. Thanks :-)

I am hungry.. but my bad habits are already coming back?! Ugh..I really hope I can get back on track and that the adjustment will work to control all this :-/

Ugh I was doing so good.. :-(
Ugh I can't wait to get my first adjustment..at this point I feel like I am binge eating all the sudden :-( the more I find out I can eat without any issues ...the more I do it...I lost 20 pounds in the last 3 weeks I don't want to ruin it! I am totally beating myself up now, & feeling down about it. :-(

Ugh I was doing so good.. :-(
Thank you for that info & words of encouragement. I wasn't supposed to get my first adjustment until the 26th, but I called to tell them I am having a tough time now....and they made it for next Wednesday.. hopefully that will force me to do the things I am supposed to because right now I keep wanting to eat everything after being so restricted the last few weeks.

In a wedding this Saturday, Can I have a drink?
Yes I am only 3 weeks post op..but my mom's wedding is this Saturday, I am not a big drinker but a wedding is one of those occasions where I like to have drinks with everyone. Is it ok to have 1 or 2? What is the best choice? I want to do everything right but I don't want to stop living my life the way I want in the meantime.. eating healthy & losing weight is the goal but if I give up everything it will really get to me in a bad way :-/ I am not sure how a drink will affect me either though... obviously I would sip slow just in case!

Ugh I was doing so good.. :-(
I am down 20 pounds since surgery on the 21st of May and the preop diet.. I have been doing so good with everything until I got to the pureed food stage..then gradually I feel like I am going back to bad habits or just not following the rules. As I sat here bored, tired & feeling so hungry, I went to the fridge & gave in. I am hoping when I get my first adjustment next week it will help me stick to eating slow, not drinking while eating, etc. But right now I am just hungry and after a couple times of being fine after eating faster and bigger portions ..it's made me do it more :-/ Ugh... feeling discouraged.

Please say it gets easier! :-(
So right now at 2 weeks post op I am hungry alot and this weekend we are camping, so there is good Snacks & food everywhere & I am eating mush.. .this is so hard..not only that but my anxiety & moods are not the greatest (I have a mood disorder already) because I can't turn to food for comfort in times of stress.. I feel like I have no out, I quit smoking over a year ago & now I just feel so deprived & like there is nothing to turn too. I feel like I am paying the price for wanting to be thin :-/ I don't want to think of it that way though. I hope I can get past this hard part.

Good idea for eating slow?
I am still finding that doing other things while eating helps alot. Sitting here playing on my phone is helping me eat this cottage cheese slow..and is helping me take breaks between bites Eating while sitting and staring at a timer or clock is going to drive me crazy lol.. I think distraction is the key for me as long as I remember to chew each bite thoroughly.

Good idea for eating slow?
Bariatric Timer & Mindful Meal Timer are the ones I downloaded.. very good apps

Good idea for eating slow?
Thanks! I downloaded the app..it's great to get me used to eating this way.

Good idea for eating slow?
Wow..that seems so slow, when I am used to shoveling food down so fast :-/ This is gonna be tough! Does this apply to the pureed stage too? Nothing to really chew.. but I guess the bite per minute is still good to practice now.

Good idea for eating slow?
So I started pureed foods today, 15 days post op.. Dr said to allow 30 minutes for meal time & of course chew thoroughly and eat slow. I found that if I do something along with eating a meal it makes me slow down & take breaks..things like doing the dishes, laundry, tending to my 9 month old, etc. Anyone else do this? Or is sitting down for a half hour, eating slow better? I am going to have a hard time doing it that way..I need something to distract me to slow down. Thoughts? Ideas?

Pureed food ideas for camping?
So I start my 3rd week post op this Thursday, we are leaving to go camping for the weekend on Friday. I know I can bring yogurts, cans of tuna and applesauce, etc. I can cook eggs also.. Any other easy ideas anyone can give me? I will bring my personal blender too lol, just need a few more ideas without it getting into too many ingredients or time spent on meals. My post op instructions had a few ideas but not many.. I really can't wait to cook for my family again, but I don't want to make big dinners just to have to puree them for myself. I think I will wait a couple more weeks then be able to make healthy high Protein meals for dinner.

Vomiting during first 6 weeks bad...but what about...
Gagging? I know this sounds so dumb but I have a bad gag reflex..brushing my teeth, drinking certain things, etc.. If I gag badly or a few times in a row..could that cause the band to slip like vomiting could ? I sure hope not!

Caffeine?
Yes. I really plan to do the same or at least limit it to maybe 1 cup in the mornings..but right now it's tough to give up everything at once while I get used to a new lifestyle and eating alot different. I quit smoking a year ago..that wasn't easy of course! So I know I can do this! I definitely want to replace the caffeine with natural energy from a healthy diet & exercise asap..

Pain at Port Site 1 1/2 weeks post op?
Thanks :-)

Caffeine?
Hi everyone. ..me again! Lol I feel like I keep asking question after question. But I love this group and the entire forum community for the advice and help I have gotten while starting out with my lapband. Anyways, I know we're supposed to limit caffeine. .but right now I don't think I could function without it...I am so tired from not eating anything for the last almost 3 weeks! I need that boost that a cup of coffee gives me (with Splenda and skim milk of course) Can it be that bad? As long as I drink alot of Water & other liquids to prevent dehydration? I have a 9 month old at home ..I definitely can't sit around being tired all day lol I gotta confess though..maybe the half of the energy shot I did might not be a good idea? Or maybe it's better than coffee as far as the diuretic part? Help! Thanks lol :-)

Pain at Port Site 1 1/2 weeks post op?
I know I am still early on after surgery but should the incision and port location still be kind of painful? It's not even that painful ..just very uncomfortable when sitting, bending over, picking things up, Etc. Even wearing an underwire bra is annoying and uncomfortable because sitting a bit hunched over or just with my chubby stomach scrunched up..the wire must sit on the port and cause discomfort..I guess I didn't really think about or research this part of the surgery, I hope it won't feel like this forever?

Why no vitamins the first 2 weeks?
Yes, they said my medications are fine as long as they are small. I haven't had a problem with those..but it says no vitamins the first 2 weeks on my post op instructions..weird ...maybe because they assume vitamins are larger pills? I might call to ask but I only have a few more days until the 2 week mark anyways.

Why no vitamins the first 2 weeks?
If they said I can take my regular medications and even without crushing them..what is the rule about no vitamins the first 2 weeks about?

Italian Ice? 100 calories
As I sit here devouring some Italian Ice I just found at walmart tonight.. I am wondering if it's a good choice? I am 1 week post op (lapband) & my post op diet does say ices are ok, these ones are fat free and only 100 calories, that should be fine? They didn't have sugar free. I feel like I am analyzing the post op directions way too much, I am doing liquids only but I keep worrying about every little thing ..although I have lost 15 pounds in the last 2 weeks, so I must be doing something right.

Thank you so much for that awesome response and answering all my questions :-)

Newly Banded!...a few questions & advice needed, please help!
I had my surgery on the 21st, but don't have my follow up appointment until next Tuesday. In the meantime, I wanted to ask others about a few things.. Is the drinking liquids very slow in sips really necessary? And at a rate of 3oz per hour? Because although I do sip..I have been drinking more than that sometimes in a short time frame & haven't had any problems. Also, is applesauce, yogurt & sugar free pudding ok during the 2 week liquid stage? I wasn't advised that it was, but on some official lapband websites it says they are fine on the liquid part of first 2 weeks. And, liquids...should I just drink them constantly? I have a Protein shake with skim milk for each meal..but other diet/sugar free liquids an be an all day thing? I don't seem to get too full from drinking so I wanted to ask.. And should I get full from having enough liquids? I haven't had the hunger feeling much until today. Now I definitely feel hungry after awhile more & more. Overall I haven't had any problems post op, no gas after the 2nd day..pain was gone for the most part after 3rd day & I am only worried about the transition to regular food and what I will be able and not able to eat. I also am having a hard time with keeping my mind off food :-( I always ate when I was bored so I try to keep busy..but food being all around me still makes me want some! My family is having a big bbq this weekend, tons of food ..and I will sit there with a Protein shake :-/ Thanks :-)
