  1. congrats it gets better everyday. I am 5 days post op. You can ask for something to help with the nausea. I had a patch given to me by anesthesia the day before it helped but I was still nauseated a Lil too much to walk after surgery right away. The nurse injected some meds in my I.V. took it right away. (Too late now, but someone else reading it might benefit). Hang in there you are doing well. Its hard in the beginning but I am feeling better each day. Just walk when you can, a little helps and don't push or over do yourself. Your body is using a lot of energy to heal itself. Drink, drink drink. So happy you are on the other side... Its an awesome accomplishment!!!
  2. it is interesting to read everyone's posts. My team placed me on pureed meals 2day post op. I don't eat them all day of course but had to show that I could tolerate it before I left the hospital. I concentrate on water & protein shakes pureed foods all proteins In between . We all must follow our teams instructions. Best of luck to everyone.
  3. it us exciting I'm 4days post op. You will have good & bad days, hours, minutes, moments. Embrace them all. Learn your body and follow the instructions given by your team all the way. Best of luck!! how are you??
  4. good luck only a couple of days left!!!
  5. hi glad to hear all is going well. I came Home Sunday. Last night was the best night of sleep I have had. Rough day today. Allergic reaction to my nexium. Broke out, eyes lips swolled up & burning itching hands & feet. It was the most scariest and horrible feeling since surgery. I paged my resident on call he told me to get benadryl which I'm taking now. Its ups and downs but totally worth it. I've had worse being obese. Glad to read your update! I was two days post op. Diarreah all day but it did come!
  6. Awesome work you look amazing!!!
  7. I know for sure that the sleeve makes acid reflux much worse. I am 4 days post op from gastric bypass and all the way until the day if surgery, I had horrible reflux. I initially only wanted the sleeve. My Surgeon did consult that due to my chronic reflux it would be worse but I didn't want yo hear it. But, I attended a session were there were 3 sleevers scheduled for bypass due to horrible reflux . I immediately did my research and decided that I'm only having surgery once. I changed to bypass and I haven't had not one incident since my surgery. I also only met with my surgeon once and did everything else through his APN and he and I communicated by email. It's your body, your choice. Do your homework , talk to other sleevers and sleeves who have ultimately converted to bypass. There are lots here. As mentioned before get copies of your records & switch hospitals if you'd needs are not met. I m am confident that you will make the right decision that's best for you. Best of luck, I know you can make it happen!!!
  8. thanks the cinnamon roll and cheese cake sounds delicious. I'm gonna have to order on line. Did u say its from Bariatric Advantage?
  9. I'm 3 days post op & trust me I struggled with the preop phase...I felt I had to get it all "in" before I had to change my life forever. I did give it my best the last pre-op week However, once you have the surgery, everything will fall into place very easily. Just slow down STOPP jumping the gun so to say. This is not an overnight process. If you fall Into the wrong habits post op, you will pay so it will only take u once to make that mistake. i dont mean weight gain, i mean pain, your body will reject anything it shouldn't have!!! One day at a time. Take this process all in and you will be fine. TRUST me, I been where you are but I'm here now and its GREAT. You are aware of it and not in denial which is s HUGE step!!
  10. im at home doing well. Feeling better. Hope your mom is well also. Tell her were all still here taking it onevday at a time.
  11. hi, im feeling better this morning happy to be home in my own bed. The gas pains are minimal i feel them and hear the gas racing around my stomach but no pain from them. I can definitely tell when the pain meds are wearing off. I am happy to be on pureed although i cant eat that much it was hearty. Still sticking with my broths. They are heaven warm & hearty. Been working on my protein shakes as welln& water. I got a lecture from my surgical team about dehydration and i dont want that. Hope things are good with you, relaxing, healing & resting at home.
  12. the night of surgery wasn't bad even yesterday was cool as far as pain has yrs bug not unbearable. Today..OMG...woke up feeling like I was in a fight with body shots being thrown and I didn't win, lol. Everything hurt like hell. I'm on liquid pain meds now. No more I.V. meds. Started puree's today also. Could only eat a couple forks. It tasted really good but jus couldn't eat it. The doc mentioned me going home today but not sure yet... I hope you are doing better.
  13. thanks Caligul, my surgery had set backs in the O.R It took an hour to get the breathing tube Down my throat. They said I have a fleshy throat. Thanks to my diligent surgical & anesthesia team they got it done. I couldn't have imagined going home without my surgery being done.. I feel so blessed and also to know I'm not alone in this...
  14. Hello everyone. I'm 1dsy post op. The pain is tolerable with my pain pump. I felt the gas the night after surgery. I walked buy it wasn't too much fort me. However, I felt very weak and nauseated. I even had the patch to stop the nausea behind my ear. The nurse said that it would have been worse had I not had it... She gave me a med in my iv to subside it I took a nap and felt much better to walk. So happy to be post op & on the other side. Happy everyone doing better!!!
  15. @@carebear42, Yes, yes, yes happy to be on the losers bench... My sleep has been great. The gas has been thankfully mimimm. I felt some lastnight but not too bad. More so weak & dizziness. The nurse gave me some meds in my IV after a nap, I was all good. On clear liquids today been enjoying that a lot. Ho we have you been?

  17. @checkmeowt@nervous nana I was very drained yesterday. Could barely keep my eyes open. I'm feeling much better been up walking around. Sitting up in my chair. I have the pain pum next to me, my new best friend... Nothing by mouth. Only cool ice water sponge in my mouth. Tomorrow i may get liquids. One possible setback in the OR... they had a hard time getting the breathing tube down my throat. They almost couldnt proceed with yhr surgery as I would have been truly brpken... Thanks to a very diligent surgical and anesthesia team. I will continud ro send updates!!! Thanks for your well wishes!
