I am 62.  I wanted to do this 15 years ago, but it was so new then and so rare, and I was borderline obese.  I thought I should be able to do it on my own.  But then, as an accountant, I just kept sitting around and lost my motivation to exercise.  I have been pretty good about maintaining my weight at 228 but not at losing it.  So I have signed up for surgery April 8th 2015.  I am looking forward to having  help with the weight loss, like catching a wind in my sales, or a big wave to ride.  I have an electric bicycle which is great because hills or windy days don't discourage me.  That is the image I have of my WLS experience, that the GBS will help me loose fast enough that I won't get discouraged and roll back down the hill.  That with the help of the surgery, the support groups and the controlled portions, I will not only get to goal but stay there.  I want to be able to hike and ski and snow shoe again.  To sun bathe, and dance and all the activities all my friends enjoy.  They are all so fit and healthy.  I want that for myself too.  That's who I really am.  I want to look and feel that way. I think I can, I think I can...
