  8. I was never on insulin just oral meds. But they were gone about 2 weeks after surgery. If i could only get rid of the cpap machine, but my pulmonary doc won't do a sleep study until i get to a stable weight (frustrating).

  11. Well just got back from my Cardiologist. I had not seen him since about a month before surgery so I'm down 65-70 pounds. He eliminated one of the BP meds I was on. So with the Diabetes meds that left about 2 weeks after surgery I'm down to half the prescriptions I was taking. Feels great to be able to see improvement in all the things that were killing me because of the weight. Keep it up everyone its a good ride down. Oh and not to sound excited like a girl but stopped in Goodwill to see if they had any jeans. Picked up a size 42 pair of Levis. Mind you I used to not even look at anything less than 50's. Didn't think i would even be able to button them but figured for 5 bucks i'll get there. Well they are a tad snug but I can get in them. Feels great. Dave
  12. I'm actually in Hopkinsville, but had my surgery on Oct. 8th with Dr. Weiss.

  14. I was sleeved 10/8 and have the exact same thing with my cpap machine. I'm not stuffy at all, but it seems that somehow i'm opening my mouth (which I never did before) and its making my mouth dry i wake up at least 3 times a night and drink a bit of Water. I'm going to discuss it with my pulmonary doc, just seems strange that this has only happened after the surgery.
  15. Thanks everyone, I tend to not be real chatty. Everything is going pretty good. I am however looking really forward to being able to get some texture in the food I can eat. I'm not hungry but damn i want to chew something so sick of liquid / full liquid stuff. I do get to try some scrambled eggs and maybe some oatmeal tomorrow per my doctors timeframe for the post diet so i'm looking forward to that. I haven't had any problem getting anything down so far and keep my Protein at 100 to 120 a day. Overall its not been bad at all and i'm down to 314 from 335 day of surgery on the 8th.
  16. Have you talked to your Rabbi? I'm not jewish but I would think that would be the best place to go to find out exactly the doctrine of your faith on the subject.
  17. Hey guys I've been reading the forums for a while. Lots of good info and help. I spent the last decade going back and forth about having the surgery. Finally was sleeved on 10/8 everything has gone surprising well. Nothing more than I guess the normal pain you'd have from getting sliced open in 6 places. Like I said thought I'd finally say hi after reading for so long.
