  1. I am 54 soon to be 55 on Feb 11th. I'm hoping to be banded sometime in March. I started with the wl doctor in September. Like the rest of you, I really want to live to see my beautiful granddaughters to grow up and walk down the isle. I have 3 granddaughters with # 4 granddaughter due in February.
  2. :help:Did any of you have to have an arterial blood gas drawn before surgery? If so, did it hurt? I am not looking forward to this, any words of wisdom?
  3. Wow, I'm sorry to hear your story. I am a nurse and I think it's imperative you call the doc who banded you. The other thought I had was, I think you need to look at your diet and make sure you are making wise choices. There is something called a PB and sliming that I've read about on this website. Check it out, that might be what is happening to you. I haven't been banded yet. I'm hoping for sometime in early April. So, please call your banding doc and please let us know what the outcome is. Good Luck, Susan
  4. Hello Everyone: I am awaiting my approval hopefully by March. I am a nurse and there is something that is called referred pain. I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy many years ago but one of the most memorable pains I had, was terrible pain in my shoulders. I was told after the surgery that what I was having was referred pain. You have something wrong one place and you get pain in a completely unrelated far away place. Just a thought that maybe your stomach does press on nerves that causes the shoulder pain. I am getting a little nervous as I don't want to think I'm having a heart attack everyday post op. Have a great day. Susan
  5. Suzy: I have Dr. Moe also. I feel like no one has paid me much mind. I go once a month for a group session with Sloane and that's it. I don't know where I am as fas as the approval process, I don't know what to expect regarding the surgery, etc. When did they ever talk to you? I'm really feeling frustrated.
  6. I've been using EAS advant edge chocolate drinks. 17 gms of protein, 100 calories, and 4 gm of carbohydrates. I love these drinks, it's like drinking chocolate milk, yummie! Drink them cold. I buy them at BJ's, 24 11oz cartons for $26.00. Not a bad price.:clap2:
  7. Hello fellow Christians: I am hopefully being banded sometime after the first of the year. The docs I'm using are supposed to be great, but I have no info on the actual surgery and recovery period. Can you tell me what to expect? How long is the recovery period? You have to wait to get a fill? how will I know if my band slips? what foods will I be able to eat, etc. In Christ, Susan:help:
  8. Hi Stephanie: Congrats on making it to a 1x. I know that's exciting. Just think by summer you'll probably be a size M. I can't wait to be that size! :-). Please let me know your progress. Regarding doctors, I work at GBMC so I'm using the practice there. I was just wondering if anyone else had used them. Merry Christmas
  9. :thankyou:For the warm welcome to this site. I have to get my blood gas done and my psych eval and I'll be ready for a surgery date.
  10. Hello, I am in the process of getting all of my pre requisits done for a surgery date. I'm trying to connect on a board, but have not had any luck so far. I am 54 and like the idea of conncecting with women my age being banded. I just want this weight off and not feel like I have to eat all the time. I know it's a journey, but one that will be well worth it. Susan Powell:clap2:
