  1. You guys have made me feel soooo much better!!! Thank you ????
  2. Hi everyone, I need help and advice please. On once of my incision sites, a small piece of the internal sutures used to strengthen the wound are protruding out of my wound. My surgery was on April 15 and my other scars are healing nicely but I'm freaking out a little about this. It is a direct route to my insides!!! I am keeping it clean but the doctor said it could take 6weeks for them to dissolve. Has this happened to anyone else?
  3. I was just informed that the balance of my surgery needs to be paid in cash. This makes me kind of uncomfortable as I am traveling to Mexico alone. Is there a reason why they want cash?
  4. I'm headed to PVR and was just told that they want my final payment in cash. Is this typical? My husband is very worried about me traveling alone with thousands in cash. Aren't there other ways to securely give them my money? Bank check, travelers checks? Sorry, I realize now I just posted that in the wrong spot.
  5. @@Jess pics please!!!!! I would love to get an idea of scars and before and afters
  6. Hi David, I need to go back and find them again. I think at least one of them emailed me the quote. You need to go through the whole process of filling out all the information about when, where and who is doing the procedure. Then the price is based on the level of insurance you want. If I can pick up where I left off when I was first researching, I will be happy to give you the company names
  7. I sent you a message. I hope we can connect so I can find out how everything goes for you. I have no doubt it will be great. All the best!!
  8. I am using Dr.Hidalgo in PVR. I haven't heard a lot of chatter about him on the boards here but I feel really good about him being my surgeon so far.
  9. I will be in PVR on the 15th with Dr. Hidalgo. I am staying at the Sunset Plaza. Anyone wanna be a buddy??
  10. Thanks @@JamieLogical that is a great place for me to start
  11. I'm going with Dr. Hidalgo in PVR. Scheduled for the 15th of April. Anyone going to the coast?
  12. This is a great question. Something I had wondered too. What will happen to your luggage and cash while you are in surgery? I wonder if there is a safe place for everything??
  13. I will be in PVR from April 14 thru the 21st with my surgery on the 15th with Dr. Hidalgo. I am staying at the Sunset Plaza Hotel and going to be enjoying an extended Beach-centered recovery
  14. Anyone want to work on a packing list for Mexico Sleevers? I am very type"A" and organized and I don't want to miss a thing. My surgery date is April 15.
  15. Great ideas! I take Maxalt but have been on injection imitrex and still have that. I know Maxalt comes in a sublingual form so maybe I can get a prescription for that beforehand. Thanks for your help
  16. That is such a big help to me!! Thank you so much!!! My Surgery Date is April 15 so it's really coming up fast
  17. Can you give examples of what you consumed immediately post op? Most of the things on my list are sugar-free popsicles, sugar free Jello, etc. I have no problem eating and drinking a diet like you describe but I also want to stick to what my surgeon tells me. I have the question into him as well. It looks like no broths or anything like that until week 2? I don't drink coffee or anything really besides Water at this point.
  18. ThinniMinnie, how did you manage avoiding the aspartame? This is a big worry for me. I avoid it at all costs because it gives me migraines.
  19. I am a migraine sufferer too and worried about keeping up with meds post op and pain medication rebound headaches. I'm not 100% sure but I think I read that you can't take pills after surgery. I take lots of prescriptions and missing even one day could send me into a tailspin. I'm going to Mexico for surgery so I can't have my doctor adjust my daily scripts post op, it all needs to be planned in advance.
  20. I'd bet it's the energy you are putting off. You have done this for you despite the haters. You are likely exuding a new confidence that makes you more approachable.
  21. Thank you for this question!! I was going through the posts to try to find it so I didn't duplicate the question myself. I do NOT use artificial sweeteners under any circumstance due to the fact that they trigger bad migraines for me. I need to figure out how to do this post-op without anything except what's in the protein powder. It seems like the whole list is nothing but artificially sweetened stuff... Sugar free jello, sugar free Popsicles etc.
  22. Hi everyone, I'm about to book my procedure and would like referrals for complication insurance. I've only found 2 companies so far. Thanks!!
  23. Rocky1 Check this out! I was searching for Dr. Joya like you recommended and it looks like Dr. Hidalgo is affiliated with him! http://www.drjoya.com/bariatric-doctors-in-mexico-weight-loss-doctors-in-mexico-weight-loss-surgery-in-mexico.html YAY!!!
