  1. Chanel, what was the reason they were denying you and how long did all of the appeals take?
  2. I hope so. I am so bummed right about now :/
  3. Thanks so much for everyone's replies. This evening has definitely been a bummer. I am going to call my pcp tomorrow and see if he will write a letter or something. He has seen me for over 20 years and has known my track record also on diet failures
  4. So upset. Got a denial phone call today. My bmi is 41. Said since I was on a diet plan in the last 2 years and lost weight that I should be able to do it on my own!!?! I have been morbidly obese for 15 years. Makes me sick :/
  5. I am anticipating my sleeve surgery to be in the beginning of June. Do you think an August visit would be too soon? I don't want my stomach and incisions to be sore the whole time :/
  6. I'm from frederick. Anyone else from md?
  7. The venious closure went pretty well. The vein was still protruding some so I had the vein removal done a few months later. Still doesn't look great in my opinion for as much money as the insurance paid for it. Still have some weird nerve pain also and I had the final procedure completed last September.
  8. I have united healthcare and it was covered for me.
  9. Thanks everyone for your replies. This anxiety is driving me crazy :/. Never had anything like it in my 40 years of life until my daughter went to college. It's horrible. I went to the dentist the other day and they have this new blanket type thing that they put over you when they do the X-rays. Well the new blankets have a thing that goes all the way up your neck and Velcro in the back. I thought it was ok because I knew that it was going to be a quick X-ray but my heart started racing and I could feel my blood pressure rising. I had to tell the hygentist to fold that part down. Anxiety sucks!
  10. Has anyone that has gone through with the sleeve surgery had problems with anxiety before hand? I have recently been diagnosed with anxiety issues and I am starting to worry about my surgery coming up in May. Will something be given to me in my iv before I am wheeled into the operating room? I don't want to have a full fledged anxiety attack right before hand :/.
  11. I'm in Md also . In the middle of pre op testing right now.
