  1. Maybe you should contact your surgeon.
  2. It's nice to read such a positive feed! My sleeve surgery is in 5 days and I am so nervous now! Thanks for sharing your stories!
  3. I'm glad you asked this question. I am having surgery this coming Thursday and I am still struggling with telling people. My husband, and a few friends & family know. I'm just not sure how to talk about it with other people. I know I get judged already for my weight & I don't feel like offering myself up for more judgement and criticism. I don't care so much if they approve or not because they don't know what's best for me, I just don't want to be Center of attention for any reason. I guess I will learn as I go about how to talk about it but for now it isn't public knowledge in my life.
  4. I also have that nagging feeling in the back of my mind. My surgery is March 19th. I think about all the crazy diets I have been on for the last probably 18years and the failure that I have had and I can't help but to wonder if this will be another failed attempt. Don't get me wrong I am ready & prepared to see this through. I don't think this way most of the time. I am feeling good about this opportunity, but I do get those creeping thoughts. I am getting very nervous now that surgery is so close, but I imagine it is normal.
  5. @@FortKnox78 Thank you! The crazy thing is my PCP convinced me to have the surgery to start with & referred me to my surgeon! I don't know why they became so rude & unprofessional with me. I am not a needy person & I didn't ask any special favors. I only asked them to do their job & communicate with my surgeon. I'm sorry you had such a hard time with your doctor. I'm assuming from your name it isn't so easy for you to just get a new doctor?
  6. I am having mine at University of Maryland Medical Center. Where did you have yours?
  7. Hi! I am having my surgery done March 19th! I am half way through my liver shrinking diet & doing ok with that now. It was awful the first three days, but much better now. I had some unusual circumstances getting to the end of my 7 month program before I could get approved. My PCP office wouldn't fax anything to my surgeon & lied to me time and time again. I had to pick up everything & fax it myself. Some of the paperwork was so sloppy the insurance company couldn't read it & it had to be redone. My doctors office didn't believe that the insurance company rejected his handwriting & they laughed at me & ridiculed me. Then they wouldn't call me back or the surgeons office back. When it was all said & done I was a month behind schedule, a patient rep from my insurance company had to make a surprise visit to my doctor to get it done, and of course now I am looking for a new doctor lol! Anyways it was a very stressful time & I started to feel like it wasn't going to happen. Well it is happening (Yay!) and I am nervous & excited like most people I think. I feel like I am informed, supported, & as ready as I can be but I am having the worst time sleeping. I don't sleep well normally but this is bad. Also I am having a lot of bad or vivid dreams. I guess it is just worry & stress. Anyone else experiencing this? I am a worrier, I do get anxiety sometimes but not on a level of disrupting my life or needing a prescription.
  8. This liver shrinking diet is tough! My surgeons diet plan is two weeks all liquid. 3-4 protein shakes a day, sf drinks, sf jello, sf Popsicles, broth, water. That is plan A and the plan he wants most people on. I have 8 days until surgery ( yay!) so 7 more days of this diet. The first 3 days were just awful. I was hungry, cranky, and nauseous from all the sweet flavors. Plus I had low energy. I ordered some unflavored protein & chicken soup flavored protein but they didn't come until about day 5. I had a pre op appointment & also spoke to the nutritionist. They said I was having a sensitivity to sweet flavor and if I was struggling I could do two shakes & one small meal consisting of 3 oz skinless chicken, turkey, or fish & a green veg like broccoli. That has helped me a lot. I needed something savory. I am halfway through & it is not so bad now. I am not as hungry or cranky lol! I know every surgeon is different but I hope that helps someone.
  9. I'm new here & pre surgery but I have PCOS too and I'm grateful to hear so many success stories because I have my own fears about losing the weight. It has always been so hard & slow to lose weight for me and I worry if I will lose weight with surgery the way so many others have or if it will be difficult because of my PCOS. I have about 200lbs to lose but I am hopeful!
  10. This gives me hope lol! I am having surgery in just under two weeks and I really hope my feet shrink! It is hard to find cute shoes in an 11w.
