Concerned about possible slip?
Hello All! I find it so much easier to get advice from all of you than from anywhere else. I have had major reflux in the last few weeks. I am eating more, etc.. No sticking. No BP's. Actually I am eating more, which I tend to do to settle my stomach. I had a fill in May and got a slight unfill last week b/c of the reflux. Called today and they are ordering an upper GI, but still concerned. In April I was VERY sick (vomiting and dry heaves) and my stomach has not been the same since. Any advice? I know I need to give up coffee, but REALLY that will be so hard for me.

developed gallstones!
So I have not been on here in ages, but wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. I have been within three pounds of goal for over two months and it does not want to come off! Luckily, I have not gained either, b/c it feels like I am eating a whole lot.. One year and one week after surgery, I have gallstones. Only two attacks so far, but my LB doctor is going to take it out soon. Just wondering if anyone else has been through that. Also curious about moving the port. Mine bulges now and I am hoping he will move it for me.

Scare Off the Pounds for Halloween Challenge
I need in on this! I have 7 pounds to lose in order to reach my goal and recently had to have an unfil! This seven pounds does not want to come off... However, I have not really been on the right track either lately. Add me to the list as of today. When does the challenge end? How much time do I have?

Good luck Shortgal
I searched the pages to find out what happened with your complilcations. I am sorry to hear that your problems have continued and that the band is no longer an option. Continue with your hard work and by all means enjoy your son's wedding. He won't care if mom lost 45 pounds or 100, just that she is there for his on his special day!

Bcbs minnisota anybody?
I think you will be o.k. as well as long as the 6 months are gotten in there. My husband had a gap and it was fine.

Bcbs minnisota anybody?
I agree, I have BCBS of Minnesota and I was approved quickly. My husband just finished the 6 months and they only asked for the nutrition consult before approving in two days. They have been GREAT!

A complication! Unlocked band.
Just think though, that means that you lost all that weight all by yourself! You should be very proud of yourself!

Fill or no Fill/Cruise in 28 days!
This is silly, but I really need the advise. I was filled in May and was too tight. I have lost weight since then and am now eating like crazy. My next dr. appt. is on the 9th (two days) and I am not sure what to do. I have been at my current weight for at least three weeks now (bouncing btwn about 4 pounds). I know I need a slight! fill, but am not sure I want to do that before the cruise. Any advice out there. This is the first time I have ever been out of the country. BTW... My husband gets banded one week before I leave.... He would not put it off and it's a girl cruise. Pray for us!

Slipped Band
That is crazy about your band. I am sorry that you are going through this, but I agree that you should stay on course. 50-60 is hard for those of us who resorted to the band to begin with! Your success will make all of this worth it!

A complication! Unlocked band.
I am very sorry that you are having to go through this! Please let us know what the dr. says and hopefully he can fix the problem. Many of us got the same APband and I did not even know that it could come unlocked!

New East Texas to Thirties Group
I have been eating normal food for a day now and doing well. Thanks for the welcome. McKinney is not that far! I was just there a few weeks ago.

New East Texas to Thirties Group
I have primarily talked/posted with my November 07 group since we are all in the same time frames, but it is exciting to see so many close to my age having similar issues. I have done pretty well. Recently had problems and went on liquids. Just today I am going to try some real food. I am in need of a slight unfill, but my Dr. is out for a week or so. I would love to know if anyone is from East Texas.

Husband and Wife teams, or Relatives who did it together
I really think it is great that there is so much support there. I am really excited for my husband and anxious to get the approval phone call. My mother in law had gastric a year ago and inspired me to take steps towards the procedure. She has gone from 250 to 111 and looks amazing. Your story is wonderful!

Band Slip - Revision Scheduled
Thanks, I have not had any heartburn or other symptoms. I have had several sticking incidents. I just talked to DR.'s office and they said do liquids until they can see me and she will call me on Wednesday. I am having sinus problems and did not know that this could cause irritation as well. She said that may be part of the problem.

Band Slip - Revision Scheduled
What were the symptoms of the band slippage? I am concerned. I am sore in my stomach and liquids made me sore yesterday. I was not able to keep any food down? Just a bad day, or should I be concerned?

need advice
I would love to know how the tummy tuck goes. The thought scares me, but I am really going to need one!

Husband and Wife teams, or Relatives who did it together
I had the surgery 6 months ago and we are trying to schedule my husbands right now. I am hopeful that it will be a great experience for both of us. I have lost 65 lbs to date and he is really excited about his prospects!

Thyroid problems
I am a november bandster, but saw your post. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at 15 years of age. I had then even been battling my weight. My levels are checked yearly and have only had to have a couple of adjustments in that time. I too take synthroid and in generic form. Make sure that your blood tests are fasting (although some new docs don't think that is necessary) and give your body a couple of months to kick in. You will be amazed at how much better you feel when your levels are back in the normal range. I can always tell when I am out of wack! Good luck.
