  1. I am at three weeks post op. On week 5 of Clear liquids, still have crushing pain on my right hand side (doctors appointment on Friday to check that out) and the weight was dropping off until last week. Everyday I have weighed the same, but today, I went up a pound. I know I need to be patient but this is very frustrating! More liquids? How does one kick start when all I am doing is clear liquid and exercise?
  2. Hang in there. I came home 7lbs heavier than when I went in. It starts dropping fast.
  3. Just say diet and exercise, essentially that is true, right! Everyone is always looking for that quick fix, god knows I did. I'm starting to get stares as well. That is my go to answer for all the busy bodies out there who can't mind their own business.
  4. I was scared stiff too the first time but rest assured it is a wonderful feeling. You won't know when it happens.
  5. I didn't have any drains ????
  6. Definitely chap stick and eye drops. I don't really recall much of my time in hospital but definitely slip in shoes/slippers. I could not bend, so loose clothing and slip on shoes are a must especially with all the up and down and walking they make you do. good luck
  7. I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and am healing nicely, but struggling to get all the fluids in. About two days ago after being very active, I was experiencing some very sharp pain in my right hand side, close to the incision site they pulled my stomach out. I spoke to the doctor and he said this is normal, that a lot of stretching was done to get the stomach out of the small incision. Two days later I feel like I have been kicked in the side. There is no bruising of the skin whatsoever and the incisions are healing so well I can barely see them. Is this pain normal? He says yes, its internal bruising. it hurts when I sit and get up and down. Just curious if anyone else out there is experiencing this kind of pain.
  8. I know the feeling. My insurance through my employer would not even consider covering this surgery. I had made my mind up and was so determined that my husband just told me to go ahead anyway. yeah, I now have a huge credit card bill to pay, but I have not had any second thoughts. 2 weeks out and I am down 49lbs today and could not be happier. I consider the amount of money I use to spend on eating and drinking out every day will now just go against paying off the credit card. Good luck with your appeal.
  9. I vomited day of and day after surgery but nothing since.
  10. I did two weeks of clear liquid before surgery 2 weeks ago and I am still on clear liquid. My surgeon won't allow me to have puréed food for another two weeks from now. It's frustrating but you will be surprised what you can do. I was told that the clear liquid diet allows your liver to shrink in size and it allows the surgeon to do the laparoscopic procedure. He needs to move the liver out of the way to get to the stomach and the more room the better and less complications. Good luck.
  11. I had my sleeve two weeks ago today and I am feeling great. Just started to look around online today and found these forums, lots of interesting topics and I am amazed at how different everyone's stories are. My story started Dec 1 with cutting out carbs and sugar, then 3 weeks out started the clear liquid diet. Doing ok, but I can't wait for some food to chew. I am now 2 weeks out from surgery, still doing clear liquids and have another 2 weeks before I move onto puréed food. I cannot wait for a creamy soup! To date I am down 46 lbs ???? I was down 31.5 before surgery, put on 7 lbs during surgery and have since lost another 14.5 lbs in the two weeks following surgery. I am excited for this journey. I have been feeling good, hungry, tired but luckily not too much pain or nausea but today my right hand side, the incision by the belly button that they stretched out to get my stomach out is killing me. I feel like I have done about 1000 stomach crunches. I'm hoping to ride through the pain and wake up tomorrow feeling better. I'm wondering if it was getting in and out of my car today ... I may of overdone it.
  12. I took two weeks and am working from home this week
