  2. @@Djmohr -- What you said really helped solidify the decision to follow through with my surgery. I was struggling with this decision, and my doctor told me my insurance will only pay for lap-band or RNY & like you, I was devastated thinking about how extreme bypass seems. However, like you said.. if I am going to do this, I only want to do it once. Thank you for your input!

  5. Sorry, I hit reply too soon. From what I understand, tricare has the same requirements as other insurance companies for the most part. Though, they only cover lapband and gastric bypass. So far they have approved everything for me.. I haven't met with my nutritionist yet or done the EDG, but they have been pretty easy to work with compared to other issues I've had with them in the past. If anything, you can call them and they can walk you through what's required and if you meet the requirements. You'll need to know your weight and your BMI.
  6. I have Tricare Prime Remote (husband is active duty and we do not love near a Military base).
