    Your daily routine

I'm 9 months out, down 98 pounds, work full days, work out most days, and get 85-100 grams of Protein each day. I do it by meal planning on the weekends. A typical day looks like this: Breakfast - egg and turkey bacon (I cook the bacon on the weekend, then just zap it each morning) Health wise marshmallow hot chocolate (these are 15 grams of protein and delicious) lunch - Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt Sliced turkey with cheese roll-up Snack - Quest bar or quest protein chips dinner - chicken with a bite or two of veggies, ham/cheese omelet, shrimp, or chili made with ground turkey I also use P3 Protein packs that I buy at the grocery store and Smithfield deli meat and cheese roll ups - both are easy to grap as Snacks or meals when needed. I grill my chicken on the weekends, pack veggies and other items in baggies in correct portions. Tracking my food and Water in myfitnesspal keeps me accountable.
  9. I'm 83 pounds down! Feels great! Still have 37 more to go, and even with weight loss slowing, I am confident in getting there. Such an awesome feeling to begin a new year in this new place!
  10. I'm at 57 pounds down also! Just dropped below the 200 line today! Feels good!
  11. You can contact BLIS insurance and they can tell you whether or not your surgeon works with them. They can also let you know bariatric surgeons in your area who do. I purchased BLIS insurance - grateful I haven't had to use it - but it made me feel better about possible complications.

    Cash pay?

I paid $10,000 in Edmond, OK. They work with a local credit union which is a good financing option using a signature loan.
  13. Do you have a goal for how much protein you need to be getting at this point? Just wondering. Thanks!
  14. Pamzie! I'm not feeling depressed, but I do think I'm being kind of bitchy. At first, I thought it was due to not eating, but then I remembered reading on this site about hormone changes after surgery. My emotions feel rather out of control, so I'm trying to remind myself that it's normal and is probably is me - not the entire rest of the world that is doing everything wrong! (Bless my husband, he's been very good to me). I still have pain around and above the biggest incision which is on my left side although it gets better everyday. It makes sleeping through the night uncomfortable, but not what I would consider "painful". My program requires these first two weeks to be a liquid only diet as far as eating goes. Most of that is Water - 96 ounces of fluids a day. While that's hard and feels like a full time job, I think it is keeping me feeling pretty good in this recovery time. I don't get 96 everyday, but I always get over 80. In addition to that I also drink an 8 oz smoothie, a cup of Soup, and a hot chocolate - all of which I bought at my clinic so they have a lot of Protein built into them. That's it for two weeks post-surgery. After that I will go to very soft foods for two weeks. I would encourage you to follow your doctor's post-op diet plan and contact him/her about your concerns. I've contacted my clinic a couple of times with questions. More than anything, hang in there and take care of you!
  15. Have you tried Gas-X melt away strips for your shoulder pain?
  16. The pain med I'm taking is Hydrocodine, and the doctor prescribed it in liquid form. That helps. I also bought adult extra strength Tylenol in liquid. They both taste bad, but I'm sure they go down easier than crushed pills. You might ask for a new liquid prescription.
  17. Go, us! May 26th is the perfect day to start something good!
  18. My surgery is May 26th in Edmond, Oklahoma. Getting excited! Pre-op diet is just 24 hours of clear liquids the day before. I'm 54, married to an awesome guy who is a great support, two grown children. I am a teacher so the timing worked out perfectly - starting a 11 week summer break with the surgery!
